Enugu govt imposes curfew on Oruku Community, Nkanu East LGA Following the killing of the traditional ruler of Oruku Community, in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, HRH Igwe Emmanuel Chidiebere Mba, on December 26, 2020, “subject of an on-going Judicial Commission of Inquiry”, and the recent gruesome murder of the Vice Chairman of Oruku Town Union Caretaker Committee, Chief Samuel Ani, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has imposed a curfew on the community. A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Nnayelugo Chidi Aroh, disclosed that the curfew was imposed by Gov. Ugwuanyi, pursuant to Executive Order No. 2: 2021, dated 25th February 2021. Aroh stated that the curfew, which is between the hours of 6pm to 6am daily, commences from 6pm, on Thursday, February 25, 2021 and ends at 6pm, on Wednesday, 31st March, 202, in the first instance. Cattle traders begin strike today Culled from Lindaikejiblog Thurs,Feb. 25, 2021 Cattle and Foodstuff dealers under the aegis of Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria (AUFCDN) on Thursday February 25, began a nationwide strike following the expiration of a seven-day ultimatum given to the federal government to attend to their demands. The union had demanded payment of N475 billion compensation for lives of members and properties lost during the #EndSARS protest and Shasa market chaos, and dismantling of all road blocks on federal highways due to problems its members get subjected to when carrying out their duties. Enugu govt launches loan scheme for entrepreneurs The administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, through the state’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Center, has launched a loan scheme for entrepreneurs in the state, known as “Enugu SMEs Micro Credit Lending Programme”. According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on SMEs Development, Hon. Arinze Chilo-Offiah, the programme was created to give entrepreneurs in the state an opportunity to access a maximum loan of three hundred thousand naira (N300,000) with 9% yearly interest (0.75% monthly), to grow their various businesses. Chilo-Offiah who explained that the loan has a tenor of 12 months, added that applicants will enjoy a one month moratorium.   Disclosing that “terms and conditions apply”, the Special Adviser asked all interested candidates to “visit: www.enugusme.en.gov.ng/microloans or come to the Enugu SMEs Center- No. 2a, Market Garden Avenue opposite SMEs Roundabout along Ebeano Tunnel, GRA Enugu State”

Enugu Govt to commence operations of its Tech Hubs, Youth Innovation Centres   …Advertises posts of General Managers   To actualize its policy on skills acquisition and youth empowerment, the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, has called for applications from qualified candidates for appointments as General Managers of the newly established State Tech Hub and Youth Innovation Centres in Enugu Urban and Obollo Afor, Udenu Local Government Area. A statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, disclosed that the advertisement for the posts of General Managers was in keeping with the state government’s commitment to the immediate commencement of the two Technology Hubs and Youth Innovation Centres. CHIEF WHIP CELEBRATES VALENTINE WITH THE YOUTHS OF HER CONSTITUENCY   It was indeed an epoch-making event, the first of its kind in the history of Awgu North constituency where the youths of all the towns assembled together to celebrate valentine season with their leader. On Sun, Feb. 14th, CHIEF WHIP ENHA, HON. MRS JANE ENEH, Member representing Awgu North constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly hosted the youths of each of the wards in her Constituency for a Valentine celebration. This program was organized by Hon. Chukwuma Nwogbo, SSA on youth affairs to the office of the Chief Whip. The youth leaders of each of the towns in the Constituency were fully present at the program alongside with their teeming youths and a standby DJ positioned to spice up the moments.   CONGRATULATION TO THE HON. MEMBERS ENHA OVER THEIR VICTORY TODAY  SAT, 13TH FEBRUARY, 2021 At the main bowl of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu where the final match of GBURUGBURU UNITY FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT was played between the HON.   MEMBERS ENHA AND CHAIRMEN OF LGAs, it was indeed a tough match as each team put in their best in order to win the trophy as overall winner of the tournament. At the beginning of the first half of the match, council chairmen topped their counterparts by 2:0. But as the match progresses, the Hon. Members equalized the 2 goals and finally won them with a total of 7goals against 2 for the council chairmen. GOV. UGWUANYI APPROVES ANOTHER BATCH OF SET OF CHAIRS AND TABLES TO BE DEPLOYED TO AGBOGUGU SCHOOLS   His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (GBURUS) today again through the Office of the Chairman of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) deployed another batch of set of chairs and tables to Agbogugu schools on Fri, Feb. 12 th 2021. The schools visited were; Central School, Community Pry Sch and Ohumagu pry school, all in Agbogugu town.   The Headteachers, teachers and pupils of the beneficiary schools who were overwhelmed with joy on sighting the items brought to them thanked Gov. Ugwuanyi, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (GBURUS) deployed different set of chairs and tables for the teachers and pupils of six Community Nursery and Primary schools in Awgu North constituency through the office of the Chairman of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB); Hon. Ikeji Asogwa. On reception of the set of chairs and tables at the designated schools; Central School Ihe, Community Pry Sch Umuogba Ihe, Community Pry sch Eziama Ogbaku, Central Sch Ogbaku, Mbio Pry Sch Ogbaku and Otunku Pry Sch Enyimba Amoli, the pupils jumped for joy and rushed to grab seats for themselves. The Headteachers also full of excitements thanked Gov. Ugwuanyi, Chairman of the Board; Hon. Ikeji Asogwa and the Chief Whip; Hon.
