The Deputy Leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane C. Eneh, has called on women across Enugu State to intensify grassroots mobilization and political participation following the inauguration of the Tinubu Torchbearers movement in Abuja.
Mrs Eneh made the call after the inauguration ceremony held at Aso Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
The initiative, inaugurated by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and championed by the APC National Woman Leader, Dr. Mary Alile Idele, APC Deputy National Chairman South, Dr. Ben Nwoye who represented the APC National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda at the occassion, among others, is aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement and advancing the vision of inclusive development ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Describing the movement as timely and strategic, Mrs Eneh urged women to take active roles in community mobilization, voter education, and political participation.
“Women remain a powerful force in nation-building and electoral success. I encourage our mothers, daughters, and sisters across Enugu State to unite, organize, and actively support the collective vision for continued progress and development,” she stated.
Mrs Eneh further called for sustained support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and all APC candidates in the state ahead of the 2027 elections, emphasizing that grassroots participation remains key to achieving shared aspirations for the state and nation.
The Enugu State delegates in attendance at the inauguration includes: APC South East Zonal Woman Leader, Dr. Oby Ajih; Enugu State APC woman Leader, Mrs Esther Edeh; Enugu State Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development, Mrs. Ngozi Valentina Enih; Commissioner IV, Enugu State Local Government Service Commission, Mrs Amaka Nweke; Dr. Favour Ugwuanyi, mni, among others.
