WON HOME & AWAY, IT IS TIME TO CONFER ON GOV. UGWUANYI A NOBLE MEDAL AWARD AS THE BEST POLITICAL PLAYER OF THE SEASON

Looking into retrospect on the political terrain of our dear State, one cannot help but wonder on how  her long-enjoyed mutual status quo which hitherto existed before now all of a sudden started turning sour in recent time. This paradigm shift like a wide spread of fire heightened up due to the build up of the battle over 2023 Guber ambition (throwing away into a trash bin the long established zoning system in the state). As envisaged on social media prior to this time, camps fought camps, supporters of Mr A threaded words with supporters of Mr B, brothers turned enemies over night. Arguments upon counter arguments became the order of the day as one opens up any social media platform to see the reason for over 1000+ unread messages on a particular whatsapp group page. Just like the Gulder Ultimate Search, people argued for who should be the next Ultimate Lion in the Lion's Building come 2023.

To add to the dilemma, many table shakers took to their keypads to quote political histories and antecedents in order to justify their points on the next house mate to be evicted like we see in BBNaija TV reality shows. Gosh!! Enugu people are just too strong to be defeated when it comes to staking an odd in a bet. As a matter of fact, I am very much proud of the 042 blood in our youths. To some political actors, they thought that they could re-create the second version playlet of Chinua Achebe's novel of "THINGS FALL APART" with the assumption that once the fire is ignited, that the centre can no longer hold. But like Crixus the undefeatable champion of Capua in Spartacus, the centre stood firm and still standing Gidigbam uptil now to the greater glory of God. Courtesy of our dear state slogan that "Enugu State is in the hands of God". Hence, the biblical axiom that says anything committed into the hands of God is safe and secured justified the cause.

Even amidst all these happenings, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (GBURUS), the strong man at the centre neither talked nor fought anyone either through a press release or body language (irrespective of all the names calling by his haters & some political actors). Instead, he towed the noble part of PEACE, as the most paramount legacy of his administration.

Irrespective of the quagmire, gerrymandering, social media upheaval and the orchastrated attempt to disrupt the peaceful nature of the state, Gov. Ugwuanyi still extended his hands of fellowship, magnanimity, sportmanship, an all inclusive governance to all and sundry in the state. What a noble man that refused to be distracted even when some spectators positioned their binoculars to see him fall for their trap, still he jumped and passed like Odumeje.  

Just like Joe Biden of US, Gov. Ugwuanyi's supporters kept increasing in their numbers day after day. Solidarity visits upon solidarity visits greeted the Lion's Building from across all the Senatorial districts in Enugu, still he accommodates and welcomes all, always with a smiling face. Many wonders what nature of a man is this Gov. Ugwuanyi who does not segregate but welcomes all? Infact, PEACE ought to be added to his name to make it; HIS EXCELLENCY, RT. HON. PEACE IFEANYI UGWUANYI.

In all ramifications, I'm very much optimistic to say unequivocally without mincing words that Enugu State is truly blessed with a gift of a man who is meek in nature, peaceful by legacy, accommodating by his style of leadership, a friend to all and an enemy to none. Hence, based on the aforementioned dictum, ndi Enugu need to confer on him a GOLD MEDAL AS THE BEST POLITICAL PLAYER OF THE SEASON FOR WINNING BOTH HOME & AWAY POLITICAL MATCHES, an award well deserved in total recognition for his peace legacy in the state in accommodating all and sundry both in his  constituency and outside his constituency irrespective of the seed of discord orchastrated by some political jobbers in the state.

MORAL LESSON FOR ALL

If you are a leader today, endeavour to have a good legacy that people can remember you for during and after your tenure in office.

Gov. Ugwuanyi has successfully inscribed his name on the sands of time and on marble stone as a NOBLE MAN OF PEACE.

Enugu State remains, is and shall continue to remain in the hands of God.
