MAY 27: CHIEF WHIP ENHA WISHES CHILDREN A HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION

CHIEF WHIP ENHA WISHES OUR BELOVED KIDS HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION

PRESS RELEASE

With the analogy that "Children are like buds in a garden who should be carefully & lovingly nurtured", it is ideal for us all to come to terms with the realities on ground that every given child is like a unique specie of a flower, each one being so special in his/her own way but all put together makes the world a very beautiful garden/paradise.

International Children's Day Celebration was first established in Nigeria in the year 1964. Although it is a celebration across the globe, the date for it's celebration varies between different countries of the world. However, as we mark "Children's Day Celebration" today May 27, in our dear Country Nigeria, we are all enjoined to impact positive moral values into the lives of our kids in primaries and kindergartens.

According to UNICEF, the theme of this year's International Children's Day Celebration focuses on the right of children with access to; clean water, safe climate, as well as free universal basic education without disruptions.

As we all know, observance of Children's Day in Nigeria is aimed at raising public awareness on some issues confronting teens in this our present day modern society. According to indices, about 42% of the Nigerian population are children and one-third of these children between the ages of 6 - 14 are out of school children, which is not only worrisome but also a call for a correction of the new normal, for kids are our hope as the future leaders of tomorrow.

During an interactive press chat between the media crew of JANE-CARESTV and the Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, Member representing Awgu North Constituency in the hallowed chamber of the Enugu State House of Assembly, the legislator opined that our Family, Religious and Educational Institutions still have a lot of role to play in the training and upbringing of our kids, for it is biblically stated that we should "Train up a child in the way he should go so that when he grows up, he will not depart from it", Proverbs 22:6. Chief Whip who believes that imbibing the right character values into our children at their early stage of life, also re-iterated that such a good moral etiquette shall in the long run impact on their attitudinal behaviours as they approach into the stage of their youthfulness.

As Government, we shall continue to make frantic efforts to ensure that our children are given the best, but Parents & Guardians must compliment the efforts of the Government by living up to their responsibilities on child upbringing, Chief Whip added.

Chief Whip wishes all the Children of Awgu North Constituency and the kids all over the state a happy celebration.

Enugu State is in the hands of God.
