ENUGU: WITH ALL THESE, YOU FEEL GOV. UGWUANYI IS NOT A HERO? I GIVE IT TO HIM - OKOLIKE.

BEHOLD AN EAGLE DIPLOMAT: THE CHRONICLES OF GOV. UGWUANYI'S ANTECEDENTS THAT HIS HATERS SHOULD DRAW WISDOM FROM

Written by: Comr. Okolike Michael.

Behold a man, with so much humility and an admiring virtue. A unique being that accommodates everyone that comes his way. Even to those who offends him, he still stretches a warming hand of fellowship to them, with such an ever unwavering smiley face to show to them that he is an enemy to none, but rather a friend to all.

Behold a man, of which by virtue of his simple nature, many people talk down on him, yet you neither see him react nor segregate, not minding the very fact that the power & immunity accrued on him as the No. 1 man in the state gives him the better advantage of resorting to the use of a sledge hammer to oppress his enemies/opponents at will. But still, you can never see him intimidate anyone either by use of force or body language, instead he shakes off every distractions, forges ahead and still commits the State into the hands of God.

Behold a man, that irrespective of the dwindling economic situation across the country together with a huge debt profile inherited by his Government, he still finds a way to keep the state moving even in the most difficult situations. His counterparts in other states are busy downsizing their state's workforce due to poor allocations/economic hardship. To add to the dilemma, these Governors also gives unmerited excuses over non-payment of their workers' salaries, but in our own case, our man here still empowers and employs workers at intervals and still lives up to his obligation of prompt payment of their monthly salaries even with the 30k minimum wage that had long been implemented into the workers' payroll. The workers' welfare package of 13-months salary payment is still a load to him, yet he sees that too as part of a sacrifice he must undertake, even if it means making it his yearly tithe to motivate Ndi Enugu workers.

Behold a man, that with so much sacrifices he had to pay which many do not put into considerations, he still maintains PEACE & SECURITY in the state. Isn't this obvious that GBURUS is a God's gift to our home state? Ndi Enugu will value and appreciate this man's efforts better if not today, maybe after he might have left office tomorrow. Just like Goodluck Jonathan, GBURUS is one of the most criticized leader on the pages of a social media platform every time but still, he swallows every insults they rain on him hook, line and sinker, without holding to heart any grudges. Truly, GBURUS is a born leader, maybe after his tenure in office, Ndi Enugu will appreciate better this freedom and privileges we are all enjoying today.

Behold a man, that those whose hearts are latently beclouded with hatred nurtures the notion that he is a weak leader, but never have we seen him either looking fatiqued out or heard him expressed anxiety. Never have we also heard that he travelled overseas on a medical trip. Why then do people mistake his meekness to be weakness? His only sin is that he has chosen to be meek, principled and disciplined in his governance, other than using an iron/military hand like that of Late Idi-Amin of Yuganda to pilot the affairs of the state. One day, we shall all appreciate better the good antecedents of this kind-hearted man and wish to turn back the hand of clock but by then, he would have far climbed a further ladder with an International position that will make it practically impossible for him to stoop so low as par coming down to occupy the Guber seat again. The case of Goodluck Jonathan is an exemplary illustration to this kind of scenario which we all are witnesses to.

Behold a man, that people who claims to be keypad warriors on social media make an inconsequential comparative analysis of him with that of his counterparts in other states, without looking first of all at the big picture. This is a man who prefers working with the meagre resources available to him other than mortgaging the future of the state through external borrowing like some of his counterparts are already doing in some of their states. Every now and then, Enugu State is always chosen as the most suitable place for fixing of meetings. If other states are these and that as some people portray, why can't their places be selected to host all these kind of crucial meetings? Common sense should tell everyone  that Enugu State is one of the most peaceful state in Nigeria. Courtesy of a man who works behind the scene with lots of sacrifices made by him for us to be enjoying this kind of a serene environment.

Behold a man, who places so much priority on a YOUTH O'clock Agenda in such a manner that many crops of youths who never knew someone that knows someone in Government, to a great extent have genuinely benefitted from this empowerment landmark of His Excellency. His doors are always wide open and also very accessible by anyone who wishes to meet him irrespective of the person's social status. Isn't this what governance ought to be?

Behold a man, with a key policy of a responsive governance to any area(s) needing interventions and developments in the rural sectors of the state.

Behold a man, that in his speech at Okpara Square during the Enugu East Oganiru rally, he said and I quote "I pray that at the end of our administration, we will bequeath to all, a just, equitable, peaceful, united and a prosperous Enugu State that has ascended more rungs on the development ladder", what more can we use to quantify our Governor's degree of intellectual for this kind of speech other than to say that GBURUS is a GURU. He may not be perfect just like every other humans but his humane nature is outstanding and also re-awakening.

Behold a man, that understands the political terrain and understood the fact that there are those whose ears itches for chaos to be ensued in the state, thus he displayed capacity in his speech at Okpara Square by maintaining that "Ndi Enugu are famed for being a peaceful and united family irrespective of religious bent or party affiliations", thus, he doused the tension of the whirling wind by enjoining everyone to stay the course of peace and remain united. Our Governor is more of a philosopher, a think-tank, a true democrat as well as a seasoned diplomat who believes in enshrining peace first is the major preliminary driving force before any collective bargain.

Behold the man, that of a truth, i count myself being very much privileged to witness his reign in Enugu State, of which posterity will forever remember his good tracks in the good book of history of the State. Those who thinks otherwise should not cry fowl when Ndi Enugu witnesses that purported MR CHANGE that some people clamour for, especially if the much anticipated CHANGE as insinuated do not turn out to be what the people yearn for at the long run. Transition of Power at the centre in 2015 ought to still remain fresh in our memories till date.

Thank you His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for your continuous selfless services and sacrifices to Ndi Enugu. And like the proverbial people of Jerusalem in the scripture who waited upon the Lord, we also long and hope for a better twin of your like, embodied with meekness and compassion for the citizenry, who will take over you as your successor come 2023!!

Enugu State is always in the hands of God, hence, it is our prayer that our yearnings shall surely beget us a another Messiah of your kind in the next political dispensation, come 2023!!
