GOV. UGWUANYI SUMMONS ISI-UZO, ENUGU WEST COUNCIL CHAIRMEN, STAKEHOLDER TO A MEETING, CHARGES THEM TO HELP THE ELECTORATES WITH THE ONGOING INEC VOTERS REGISTRATION EXERCISE

At the Lion Building, Enugu State Government House on Wed, August 18, Isi-Uzo Local Government Council alongside with the five Enugu West Local Government Council Chairmen, Commissioners, Party Excos, Stakeholders and all the Political appointees serving in different capacities both at the State and Local Government levels, converged for an important meeting with the Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. 

Addressing the leaders and stakeholders present in the meeting, Gov. Ugwuanyi appreciated them for all their efforts and supports to his administration and also charged them to continue to deliver the good dividend of democracy to their people at the grassroots. 

Stressing further, Gov. Ugwuanyi asked for feedback from the respective local Governments leaders and stakeholders on their action plans towards ensuring that their people at the grassroots take part in this ongoing INEC Continuous Voter's Registration (CVR) exercise. 

At the Interactive session, Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, aptly represented by her Media Aide, Comr. Okolike Michael, explained to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi that Awgu North Constituency had already laid down a precedent on that before now through the program that the Chief Whip organized in Awgu North Constituency on Wed, July 21st - Tues, July 28th, 2021 where a Constituency tour for Voter Education/Sensitization was taken to all the community markets and schools in the Constituency with some ICT Personnels carried along during the exercise to help in the registrations of the people at the grassroot. According to Comr. Okolike Michael who gave the report on behalf of the Chief Whip to His Excellency, he affirmed that the exercise yielded a positive result in return as lots of people were duly registered during the exercise and those registered voters are currently on the stage of their physical registration processes on capturing and biometrics at Awgu INEC Office. 

Gov. Ugwuanyi who was pleased with the efforts of the Chief Whip in taking the registration exercise to her constituents charged all the Local Government Council Chairmen present at the meeting to go back home and draw out an action plan/template geared towards ensuring that their people take part in this ongoing Nationwide continuous voter's registration exercise in order to change the narrative of the poor registration status quo in the state.

Amongst other expectations emphasized upon by Gov. Ugwuanyi for all the Local Government Chairmen to carryout in their various council areas includes; Follow up on their people over the ongoing PDP Party Membership e-registration exercise, offsetting of all their Councillors' outstanding wardrobes allowances before the end of Nov. 2021, resolution of all lingering conflicts/misunderstandings between any of them and their Local Government Party Chairmen/Excos, Implementation of the 400% payment increment of their respective Party Excos' monthly stipend, necessity for them and their councillors to relocate to their grassroots to live amongst the people whom they lead, need for them to build bilateral symmetry/synergy for peaceful co-inhabitation between them and the people they lead. These amidst others, including the need for them to develop a good managerial moral etiquette between them and their people at the various Local Government areas, were some of the advises Gov. Ugwuanyi charged the leaders to imbibe and exhibit at all times within this their stay in office. 

In their responses, all the Local Government Council Chairmen assured Gov. Ugwuanyi of their readiness and total commitments to efficient and effective service delivery to their people in their various council areas with reference to all that he had emphasized upon in the meeting. 

Gov. Ugwuanyi in his concluding speech during the interactive session implored all the council chairmen to go back home and get down to work for him to start seeing the positive results in their areas. 


Enugu State is in the hands of God.
