It was indeed an epoch-making event today Sat, Feb. 12, as Gov. Ugwuanyi alongside with members of the State Party Excos flagged off Awgu Local Government election campaign 2022 at Awgu Local Government Secretariat. 

Speaking during the flag off Ceremony, Awgu Council Chairman and Party flag bearer, Hon. Pedro Nwankwo, Awgu Local Government PDP Chairman, Hon. Okey Udeh and his Enugu West counterpart, Dr. Okey Ozoani, National PRO of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Alex Ogbonnia, Former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Uche Uzochukwu, Former Speaker ENHA, Rt. Hon. Cletus Enebe, Commissioner for Science & Tech, Hon. Sir Obi Carl Kamah, Member Representing Awgu South Constituency at ENHA, Hon. Johnson Chukwuobasi, Member Representing Awgu/Aninri/Oji-River Federal Constituency and Deputy Minority of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu in their respective speeches thanked Gov. Ugwuanyi for his peace legacy in the state as well as many infrastructural projects and appointments showered on Ndi Awgu and promised to deliver all the aspirants at the poll come Feb. 23rd Local Government Chairmanship and Councillorship Election.


Chief Whip who also showered appreciations to Gov. Ugwuanyi for his many developmental feat in Awgu and for his magnanimity in being gender sensitive to women Councillorship positions, reassured him (Gov. Ugwuanyi) of women's supports and commitments to delivering victory for all the aspirants at the poll. 

Performing the party ritual at the flag off event, the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Augustine Nnamani in company of his Exco Members presented the party flags to the eleven ward Councillorship aspirants. 


In his speech, Gov. Ugwuanyi thanked all the solidarity groups, leaders and stakeholders present at the event for keeping faith with the party and his administration as well. 

Adding further, Gov. Ugwuanyi requested of the Council Chairman and Party flag bearer, Hon. Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo to assure Ndi Awgu that he will reciprocate the mandates Awgu people have bestowed on with good governance and service delivery in the fear of the Lord. 

Gov. Ugwuanyi after the response from Hon. Pedro Nwankwo that he will serve the people of Awgu in the fear of the Lord enjoined the good of Awgu to continue to pray for our party and the state to continuously remain in the hands of God.
