As announced on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022 by the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) through its Chairman, Dr. Mike Ajogwu, candidates of the People's Democratic Party, PDP scored the highest number of votes cast in the just concluded Enugu State Local Government poll held on Wed Feb. 23rd across the state, thereby making them winners of all the 17 chairmanship and 260 Councillorship seats in the state.  


Appreciating Gov. Ugwuanyi for his inspiring leadership and enabling environment for the peaceful conduct of the poll, Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, Member representing Awgu North Constituency at the State House of Assembly said His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ugwuanyi, has once again demonstrated capacity as the Governor of the State and also as leader of the party in the South East. Chief Whip in her goodwill message congratulates the Chairman elect of Awgu Local Government Council, Hon. Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo and his deputy, Hon. Barr. Lotachukwu Ogbonnia for their victory at the poll with a total of 43,327 votes. Chief Whip affirmed that the victory was well deserved. 

Adding further, Chief Whip extends her congratulatory messages also to the five councillors in her constituency who also emerged victoriously at the poll, in the likes of Udeh Chukwuemeka Francis from Ihe ward, Ejike Friday Okafor from Ogbaku ward, Nosike Kennedy from Ituku/Agbudu/Isuawa ward, Nwigwe Somtochukwu Miracle from Agbogugu ward and Brown Moses Okolie from Owelli/Ugbo/Ogugu/Amoli ward, saying their victories were indeed the Lord's doing.  

Chief Whip who maintains that all should see the victory we celebrate as a win for the party, our state and also for our democracy enjoined the Chairman-Elect and the Councillors to be good ambassadors of our greatly party, PDP. Do not take the mandates of the people for granted but rather take such as an opportunity to serve and not to be served, Chief Whip says. 

Enugu State is PDP, Our Party is PDP, Our Governor is PDP, It is also on the platform of PDP that you have all emerged victoriously. Therefore, i admonish you to continue to uphold the principles of the party at all times, Chief Whip advise the winners. 

Enugu State is in the hands of God.
