2023: AGUDO'S SECOND TENURE IS INCONTESTABLE, SEE WHY


WHY AGUDO NEEDS TO BE RE-ELECTED BACK IN 2023

JOURNEY SO FAR:

Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh (Agudo Nwanyi), Member representing Awgu North Constituency at the State House of Assembly was sworn-in on 10th of Jun 2019. 

As a grassroot person with experience and political pedigree, Chief Whip assumed office with actions to change the narrative in the constituency, haven known some of the likely interventions needed across various communities in Awgu North.   

To the glory of God and through the inspiring leadership of Gov. Ugwuanyi's administration, Chief Whip recorded tremendous developments in the Constituency within a space of two (2) years of her stay in office. This move earned her lots of applause, commendations and endorsements from the constituents as they termed her giant political feat first in the history of Awgu North. Noting chief whip as a real game changer, endorsements for her continuity in 2023 kept coming right, left and centre. This clarion call from constituents was borne of the necessity that they need Agudo to bring more developments and face lift to the constituency while leveraging on gains already on ground.  

The break down analysis of some of the giant political feat of the Chief Whip are; 


EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTION (PART A)

SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECT: 

At the 1st Tranche of the Enugu State school building project, Chief Whip attracted the following projects; 

• Construction of Otunku Pry Sch, Enyimba Amoli

• Construction of Pry Sch, Ihe

• Reconstruction of Community Sec. Sch, Agbudu

• Construction of Central Pry Sch, Agbudu

• Construction of Community Sec. Sch, Ogbaku

• Construction of Rosary High school, Awgu

• Construction of Community Sec. Sch, Ituku


At the 2nd Tranche of school building project, Chief Whip attracted the following projects;

• Construction of Community Pry Sch, Umuonwo Ihe.

• Reconstruction of Universal Pry Education, Amabor-Owelli.

• Reconstruction of Comprehensive High school, Ogugu.

• Construction of Community Sec. Sch, Examination Hall, Ituku.


EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTION (PART B)

(1) ADULT LITERACY EDUCATION PROGRAM: 

Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh through her JANE CARES ADULT LITERACY EDUCATION PROGRAM initiative tagged "Mama Nkechi Must learn to read and write" improved literacy capacity of her constituents. Thousands of constituents have benefitted immensely from the Program. Some are still benefitting from the Program because the project is still currently ongoing across her constituency. 


(2) LEARNING AIDS:

Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh donated learning aids/writing materials and mattresses to some Nursery and Primary pupils across Awgu North schools.  

(3). SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME: 

•Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh since 2019 when she assumed office have been paying the termly "Tuition, Sports, Examination and Development Fees of 100+ Indigent students" across all the secondary schools in her constituency in all academic sessions. So far, thousands of students have immensely benefitted from the scholarship scheme. 


• Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh also paid the WAEC FEES of 100 indigent students in Junior Secondary classes across the Constituency  

• Chief Whip also facilitated the admission of some constituents into ESUT, IMT and UNN to study course of their choice.

• Chief Whip also employed some Retired HeadMasters by utilizing their services as Adult Education Instructors. 

• Chief Whip has also been consistent with the payment of school fees of some constituents in the Higher Institutions at every given semester.

(4). FURNITURE DEPLOYMENT: 

In pursuit of a conducive environment for learning, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh through the Director of ENSUBEB, Chief Ikeje Asogwa also deployed over  a thousand set of chairs and tables to the teachers and pupils in Awgu North schools.  

(5) CLASSROOM FACILITY INTERVENTION: 

In her efforts towards creating an enabling environment for the pupils, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh also saw to the repairs and replacements of some damaged desks and lockers in some secondary schools across the constituency.

OTHER COMMUNITY INTERVENTIONS/EMPOWERMENT 

(A). SECURITY:

In area of security, Chief Whip made the following landmarks; 

•Played leading role in the  rebranding and reshuffling of the security apparatus which led to the formation of Agro Rangers Special Squad in Mbanabo North.  

•Donated a new model Sienna Vehicle to aide security operational patrol.

•Organized periodic security meetings/summit with the local security outfits, stakeholders and the conventional security agency for collaborative and enhanced security output. 

(B). HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT/WEALTH CREATION (FOR WOMEN AND YOUTHS):  

Chief Whip recorded the following footprints in the Constituency;

• Sponsored constituents to Wacol for skill acquisition training and  capacity building. 

• Sponsored some constituents to Industrial Training Fund (ITF) for skill acquisition programs/training with a start up capital to the beneficiaries. 

• Donated brand new sewing machine to a constituent together with a start up capital to the beneficiary. 

• Donated brand new Motorcycle to a constituent together with a start up capital to the beneficiary. 

•Donated brand new wheelchair together with a start up capital to the beneficiary to go into trading. 

•Organized periodic full tank filling of Premium Motor Spirit (Fuel) to over a thousand number of Motocycle (Okada) Riders. 

• Sponsored expenses all-paid trip for some  constituents to travel to Israel for pilgrimage. 

•Sponsored some constituents to travel overseas in search for a greener pasture. 

•Donated Grotto of the Blessed Virgin Mary to all the catholic parishes in Awgu North.

• Appointed over Seventy aides to her office. 

•Facilitated some political appointments and employments of constituents into state jobs.

•Organized periodic program packages for the youths.

•Organized Voter Education/Sensitization Tour round the constituency.

•Organized periodic town hall meetings with constituents (both physical and online). 

•Organized periodic Constituency Tours/Charity visitations to constituents.

•Defrayed hospital bills of some constituents as well as the electricity bill arrears of some communities.

•Reconstructed the fallen building of a constituent.

•Distrubuted palliative (food items) and some other relief materials to constituents at the peak of the Covid-19 lock down.

•Sponsored yearly distribution of bags of rice, wrappers and cash gifts to constituents during the Yuletide Season. PDP LG and Ward Party Excos, Widows and Stakeholders are not left out in this humanitarian gestures.

•Sponsored yearly beautification program for widows of her Constituency. 

•Opened a running and functional Constituency office with some trained desk staff who are always on a 24/7 duty call.

•Constituted Constituency call box for synergy and interface on constituents' feedback across communities.

BILLS AND MOTIONS:

In addition to her philanthropic dispositions, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh is also alive to her legislative responsibilities. She played leading roles to the contributions and co-sponsirship of the following high impact and people-oriented Bills, Motions and Resolutions;  

• Motion for Amoli community to be included amongst the old twenty (20) communities in Awgu L.G.A, in a repeal act of the Enugu State Local Government Act, 2000. 

The success of this Motion birthed the inclusion of Amoli town amongst the old twenty communities in Awgu L.G.A under the Enugu State Local Government Act, 2020 as amended. 

• A bill for an act to Establish the Enugu State University of Education at Ihe in Awgu L.G.A, Enugu State.

• Matter of urgent public importance on the need to intensify security in all rural areas and highways in Enugu State. 

• Motion urging the Government of Enugu State and Commissioner of Police to investigate the killings of one Mr Sunday Arinze by a police officer. 

• Matter of urgent public importance - to encourage His Excellency, The Governor of Enugu State not to relent in his efforts to win war against the rising insecurity in Enugu State. 

• The need for the Enugu State Government to Establish State Consumer Protection Committee. 

• Motion urging the Enugu State Government to have unified system of paying salaries of Primary School Teachers/Local Government staff before the appropriation funds to respective Local Government Areas, using the normal ratio (s) specified for all allocation/disbursement in Enugu State. 

• Matter of urgent public importance - the need to demolish and evacuate New Artisan Market along Enugu - PortHarcourt Expressway.

• The need to convert the old House of Assembly building near the ultra-modern secretariat building to museum or tourism centre. 

•The Need to make entrepreneurship/Enterprise development studies a compulsory part of the curriculum in all public and private schools in Enugu State. 

• Approval of Twenty (20) Special Advisers by the Honourable House of the Hallowed Chamber

• Approval of Twenty-Nine (29) Commissioners by the Honourable House of the Hallowed Chamber. 

• Confirmation of Four (4) Nominees as Members of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) by the Honourable House of the Hallowed Chamber. 

And a host of other Bills, Motions and Resolutions passed by the Honourable House of the Hallowed Chamber.
