CHIEF WHIP ENHA, ENEH CALLS FOR INCLUSION OF WOMEN IN NATION  BUILDING, LAUDS GOV. UGWUANYI'S LEGACY ON WOMEN INCLUSIVENESS IN GOVERNANCE

Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, Member Representing Awgu North Constituency at the State House of Assembly has urged the Government at the centre to change its narrative in governance by putting into considerations gender equality in apportioning political office positions within the country. 

Chief Whip made this call today Tuesday, March 8, during a virtual meeting via zoom with members of the Agudo women Group in commemoration of the International Women's Day 2022 celebration. 

Chief Whip who emphasized that in the western world, women are considered great partners and key players in Nation building, also decry the ill treatment and negligence women face here in Africa due to some cultural and religious inclinations that it practices. 

In commemorating the International Women's Day which is an annual event championed by the United Nations on every March 8, the aim is to call to bare the historical, cultural and political achievements of women around the globe. In this year's celebration which goes with a theme "Gender Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow", it is expected to be observed in support to action-taking against gender inequality around the world. It also seeks to appreciate the efforts, values and contributions of women in today's society, by curbing every "Bias" negligence against women.

Appreciating the efforts of Gov. Ugwuanyi in his women-inclusiveness legacy, Chief Whip stated that women couldn't have had a voice in politics or even showcased their capacity at the state and grassroot level if His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi hadn't considered it practicallly necessary to initiate the "Women O'clock Policy" in his administration.

Describing the women inclusiveness policy of Gov. Ugwuanyi's administration as a welcomed development which will continue to stand a test of time, Chief Whip calls on all leaders Pan Nigeria to emulate and also key into such a good legacy. Chief Whip therefore enjoin the women in particular and Ndi Enugu in general to keep supporting Gov. Ugwuanyi's administration so as to continue to be recording a giant success story in its derivables. According to the Chief Whip, Enugu state is the only state we can all call our own, so if the state is doing well, it is for the common good of everyone. Thus, all should join hands together in order to collectively build the Enugu state of our desired dream, Chief Whip says.
