CHIEF WHIP ENHA ENEH, GREATER AWGU LEADERS, STAKEHOLDERS REITERATE THEIR STAND ON ZONING, ISSUE A COMMUNIQUÉ AT THE END OF IT'S EXPANDED MEETING

"Ife-Emelumma di mma, Greater Awgu in particular and Enugu West in general stand for zoning. We shall support Enugu East zone to produce Gov. Ugwuanyi's successor for that's where the pendulum points to in 2023 - Chief Anayo Onwuegbu (Omeiheukwu), Convener". 

"We in Greater Awgu and by Extension, Enugu West Senatorial Zone reiterate our stand on zoning. We shall follow Ndi Enugu to support a Guber candidate from Enugu East for the 2023 Gubernatorial position, so that during our turn in 2031, all the zones shall also support us too - Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh". 


In a world press conference organized today Sat, March 19, during it's expanded meeting at The Base Event Centre, Independence layout Enugu, Greater Awgu Local Government Chairmen, House of Assembly Members, Former and Present Commissioners, Traditional rulers, Captains of industry, Youth and Women Groups and other Stakeholders from the zone reiterated their supports and stand on the state zoning formula especially with regards to Gov. Ugwuanyi's successor in 2023. Everyone present at the expanded meeting agreed that it's the turn of Enugu East Zone to produce the 2023 Guber candidate for the election. 


Addressing newsmen, Greater Awgu leaders and Stakeholders present at the meeting, the convener, Chief Anayo Onwuegbu (Omeihukwu Akpugoeze) emphasized on the fact the people of Greater Awgu (Awgu, Aninri and Oji-River LGAs) have gathered to reiterate their stand already taken during the Enugu West Ife-Emelumma unity rally held last year, August 7, 2021 at Awgu on zoning. "We are not making any new declaration again, rather we have come to notify Ndi Enugu and the world once again on the stand we had hitherto before now taken to support zoning. So, any person or group of persons from Greater Awgu vying for the Guber position in 2023 should note that it is not yet our turn, Chief Anayo Onwuegbu stated. 


Adding her voice, Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, Member representing Awgu North Constituency at the State House of Assembly also stated that Enugu State have a long aged zoning practices that has brought orderliness, peace and tranquillity in the state. And since it is the turn of Ndi Enugu East Senatorial Zone to produce Gov. Ugwuanyi's successor in 2023, we in Greater Awgu will have to support them so that in 2031 when it shall be the turn of Enugu West Senatorial Zone, we will also have people to support us too, Chief Whip emphasized. 

Other leaders and Stakeholders who took turn to speak at the event also declared their supports for zoning and implored anyone from the zone nurturing or seeking the ambition to run for 2023 Guber  position to bury such an ambition and wait for the turn of Ndi Enugu West after eight years of Enugu East administration.
