JUST-IN: CONSTITUENT CHARGE KEN ONYEKAONWU TO CHALLENGE AGUDO ON LEADERSHIP, DECLARE HIS INTENTION OPEN TO RUN FOR 2023 ELECTION NOT INDULGING IN SMEAR CAMPAIGN
Engr. Chris Enebe, A constituent from Awgu North Constituency replies Ken Onyekaonwu on his propaganda article.
FAO: Mr. Ken Onyekaonwu.
Dear Ken Onyekaonwu,
THE CHIEF WHIP ENUGU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY, HON. MRS. JANE C. ENEH, DESERVES COMMENDATION AND SUPPORT, NOT A SMEAR CAMPAIGN
Published by JANE-CARESTV, Saturday March 26, 2022
Ken OnyekaonwuI am constrained to express my utter displeasure over this unwarranted and mindless attack on the person of Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh, the esteemed Chief Whip Enugu State House of Assembly.
Silence they say is golden but it has its dignified state and boundary beyond which it is maintained at the expense of truth and justice.
We stand the risk of empowering falsehood if we maintain silence in the face of your growing and needless attacks on the person of the Hon. Chief Whip, Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon Mrs Jane Eneh.
From all indications, you seem to see your smear campaign as a way of paving way for yourself to be the one to enjoy public office as a birth right considering that Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh who you alluded to in that statement, is yet to finish her first tenure in office and nothing could warrant such statement from you save your ill conceived intention to paint her black in pursuit of a selfish goal.
Descerning minds will easily understand why "your so called "harmless letter" wasn't due until now, scarcely about two months to PDP primary election which apparently is a precursor to the general elections in 2023.
In your statement, you boasted about how many people you have attacked in the course of your politicking even without justifying the attacks. In boasting about these attacks, you left me feeling that you don't mind attacking people whether or not the attack is justified and for as long as you achieve your political agenda. This is very disturbing and leaves much to be desired.
A popular Igbo adage says: "a person who fights in the four different Igbo markets viz eke, orie, afo, nkwo, is it the market that is at fault or the one troubling the peaceful markets? You can answer for yourself.
You have a right to purse your political career and you also have the right to prosecute your political agenda. But then, such agenda should be conventional, issues-based, devoid of rancour or desperation.
I wish to state without equivocation that I found your claims completely hollow, grossly untrue, totally lacking in merit and summarily misleading despite all the ballyhoo and grandstanding deployed to give content to a clearly empty case of calumny sensationalized out of proportion to bequeath upon it meaning albeit unsuccessfully.
The Hon Chief Whip is happily married to High Chief Emmanuel Eneh (Egbenyi) and they are blessed with children. May I inform you that she never had a need to lay a false claim to her own husband of several years as to warrant lying on oath regarding her marriage as you alledged. You will agree with me that nobody swears an affidavit to lay claim, even false claim to what is rightfully his/hers.
It is my wish to recap by advising you as a brother to let God lift you by Himself without you trying to help God especially through the compelling and reoccurring temptation to vilify another even unjustifiably or through tendencies that smacks of desperation.
At your age, you have boundless opportunities ahead of you and you can attain the lofty heights of your dream without tainting your name or the name of others.
If you are persuaded that the Hon Chief Whip who has written her name in gold and proven that good deeds are possible and can be truly powerful, should not go for a well deserved second term, you are free to challenge her at the polls and not smear her good name on social media. But in challenging her, challenge her with good deeds not with calumny.
Challenge her with scholarships for your own set of over one hundred indigent students of Awgu North Constituency. Challenge her with beautifying another set of over one hundred widows and by providing food and clothing for those widows at least for one year. Challenge her by paying Junior WAEC fees for over one hundred indigent Awgu North students. Challenge her with your own adult education program.
Challenge her with sharing writing materials across schools in Awgu North. Challenge her with employment of over sixty Awgu people including Awgu North and South Constituencies.
Challenge her by empowering our Youths: giving sewing machines, motorcycles, wheel chairs, startups for business, supporting Okada riders periodically with petrol. Challenge her with supporting stakeholders and party structure at all levels. Challenge her by paying hospital bills for our people, by making Valentine worthwhile for the Youths and making Christmas memorable for the good people of Awgu North and indeed Awgu LGA.
Challenge her by attracting new classroom blocks/reconstruction of old ones across Awgu North Constituency and extending same to the South.
Is it not common knowledge that Hon. Jane Eneh has set a very high standard that will be difficult to match. It is not surprising that people are jittery deploying this method which is now old school to stop her but it will not work. You cannot stop a moving train. Is it not better to challenge her by at least promising same or more achievements in your manifesto rather than smearing her good name.
You are free to try your popularity at the polls but in doing so, do not destroy another's. You cannot get a table by destroying another's table.
The Hon. Chief Whip has done marvellously well and as the saying goes, one good turn deserves another. I have no doubt that the good people of Awgu and indeed Awgu LGA will support her re-election come 2023 in return for her remarkable representation. I rest my case.

Engr. Chris Enebe
