Jubilations in Awgu Local Government secretariat today Fri, March 11, as the Council Chairman, Hon. Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo presented before the clerk of Awgu Legislative arm and the good people of Awgu, the Councillors-Elect for swearing-in.
After administering oath of office to the Leader and Deputy leader nominees by the clerk of the House, Chief Cletus Chime, the leader of the newly constituted Awgu legislative Arm, Hon. Udeh Chukwuemeka Francis from Ihe ward took turn to administer same oath of office to his colleague.
In his words of appreciation to the people of Awgu for their mandate and votes which saw to their emergence at the Feb. 23rd poll, the leader of the House, Hon. Udeh Chukwuemeka Francis on behalf of his colleague, thanked the council chairman and his deputy, Hon. Pedro Nwankwo and Hon. Barr. Lota Ogbonnia, Chief Whip ENHA/Member representing Awgu North Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh alongside her counterpart in Awgu South Constituency, Hon. Johnson Chukwuobasi, Commissioner for Science & Technology, Hon. Sir. Obi Carl Kama, Party Chairman, Hon. Okey Udeh, CEO Fontana Oil and Hotels Ltd, Chief Francis Nwobi, Former Member ENHA, Hon. Nelson Uduji, as well as other Awgu Stakeholders, Supervisors, Traditional rulers and everyone else present at the occasion for gracing their swearing-in ceremony. The leader of the House thereafter assured Ndi Awgu of the councillors' commitments towards sustaining the administrative partnership that hitherto existed in the local government for enhanced service delivery to the people.
Congratulating the sworn-in councillors, Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh charged them to set the ball rolling with effective and efficient representation at the grassroot.

Do not be carried away by your new position, rather see it as a call to service to the people who gave you their mandate. Make efforts at every point in time to be up and doing in your various wards, for that is the reason why your people elected you into that office, Chief Whip admonished the councillors.
