According to Albert Einstein, the sage of the atomic age and one of the world's most brilliant thinkers, "only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile."

Mother Theresa of Calcutta, reaffirmed this view when she stated that: "unless life is lived for others, it is not worthwhile."

In the context of this discourse, living for others, epitomizes a liberation from self and a life given to the service of humanity. It encapsulates a selfless life, no longer oriented to or propelled by selfish or self-centred crave but by a manifest concern for others, victory of feeling over self-love, altruism over egoism.

It describes the concern for the welfare and happiness of others which is considered a core aspect of traditional Christian teaching and way of life. It means imbibing loving kindness as a culture and cultivating it as a daily practice . It can also mean to sensibilise empathy to the point of responding to the concerns and even needs of others.

Against this backdrop, the life of Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh is a practical example of selflessness, a life of service and a life being lived for the good  and well being of others. Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh has practically become a radiant rainbow in the clouds of many people in the society, bringing brightness, hope and happiness.

Over the years, she has consistently but quietly provided for the defenceless, specifically the motherless and the vulnerable elderly people in various motherless babies' and old people's homes, making herself a mother to the motherless, and a daughter to the respective old people she visits regularly especially on her birthdays as an act of service to God and as a way of giving back to the society. At no time did she ever make this gesture public or made reference to it as to gain any advantage, politically or otherwise, not even to win the applause of men.

This is comparable to the lifestyle of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, who also dedicates his birthdays to the motherless, the elderly, the physically challenged and other members of the society that are downtrodden without an allusion ever made to it in order to score a political point. The crux of the commonality of these ways of life is traceable to innate values fortified with profound religiosity that is devoid of any sense of pretence or travesty.

Based on this way of life, Hon. Eneh has continued to bring succour to numerous persons even in her constituency where her rare altruistic gestures abound and trailed by a flurry of excitement.

Late Mr. Aguocha Mbagu, the then oldest man in Ihe, lived his last days on earth in joy and joined his ancestors in peace despite his living condition and the ugly experience of accidental damage of his roof.

Hon. Jane Eneh became the rainbow with the glimpse of hope over the dark cloud. She did not only repair the damaged roof, she adopted him as a father and his family as her family and continued to cater for them until he lived out his days on planet earth.

Another case in point is the case of Mr. Chiedozie Ekoh, who was involved in a ghastly motor accident. He was held back at UNTH Ituku - Ozala as an awaiting patient for about a year for inability to pay his hospital bills. Mr. Ekoh couldn't help the situation until Hon. Jane Eneh emerged on the scene.Within twenty four (24)  hours, she cleared his debt of three hundred thousand naira (N300,000) and freed him and his family members who had become co-occupants with him at the hospital.

The excitement of Abraham Nweke (now late) on 11th August, 2020, got the better of him after he received an unexpected call while at the farm inviting him to Hon. Jane Eneh's Constituency office at Ihe where he was given a brand new motorcycle from Hon. Jane Eneh as part of her empowerment package. The same day, Emeka Nweke, a physically Challenged young man, received a brand new wheel chair to ease his movement. It was a joy to behold as this helpless young man raised both hands to heaven amid tears in praise to God for making his dream of moving about again a reality.

As if that was not enough, Hon Jane Eneh also gave him (Emeka Nweke) the sum of fifty thousand naira (N50,000) which was later augmented to enable him start a small scale business and eke a living. Similarly, Mrs. Martina Okafor and her young husband were on top of the world as they received a brand new sewing machine from Hon. Jane Eneh to help them begin life and support their young marriage.

The Hallmark of Hon. Eneh's benevolence was the liberality in appointing over sixty (60) Aides which she undertook as an empowerment initiative to enhance the living condition of her people.

These demonstrations of raw benevolence may be significant in describing Hon. Jane Eneh's selflessness but may not completely unfurl the depth of her altruism which is boundless and which she graciously extends to the widows, the sick, the needy and by which she has made remarkable impacts in the education of her constituents and indeed in the lives of so many whose testimonies are like a popular song that everyone knows and can sing.

Perhaps, one of her greatest achievements aside human empowerment is the human capacity building through her impact and legacies in the education sector where her contributions are helping to shape a future for the next generation and adds to securing the future of the youth including those of the indigent children who had neither helper not hope.

Other acts of Hon. Jane Eneh by which she has touched lives and brought sunshine in the dark parts of the world, abound.

She denies herself fleeting pleasures and thriftless luxury for others to be happy. In the happiness of others, she finds inner peace and satisfaction. She gives without end and sometimes surpasses her original intention usually in a bid to provide an answer for people who are abandoned and helpless.

The life of this great woman, a radiant rainbow in the clouds, is indeed a worthwhile one deserving of celebration particularly as she marks her birthday.

Happy birthday, Hon. Chief Whip ENHA.

Happy birthday Hon. Mrs. Jane C. Eneh.

Happy birthday, great Agudo.

Wishing you many more happy returns.

Wishing you a resounding victory come 2023.

Cheers🥂
