AUGUST MEETING FLAG-OFF: CHIEF WHIP ENHA, ENEH, AWGU WOMEN WIN PLASMA TV, TWO TROPHIES

Jubilations on Tuesday, August 9, at Okpara Square, Independence layout Enugu, as Awgu Women emerged winners in the match past and food exhibition competitions organised amongst the catholic women across the 17 LGAs in the state. 

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony to usher-in this year's August Meeting, the wife of the Enugu State Governor, Mrs Monica Ugochi Ugwuanyi, thanked all the Enugu women for their supports and prayers to Gov. Ugwuanyi's administration since 2015 that he assumed office till now and enjoined the women to continue to apply same supportive roles across their homes and the society at large. Mrs Ugwuanyi gave the advice, based on the theme of this year's Women August meeting conference tagged - "Women, The Home, Peace and Bridge Builders". 


Highlights of some of the events carried out at okpara square includes; Presentation of grants to Indigent women by Mrs Ugwuanyi through her pet project, Ugo's Touch of life foundation, Raffle Draw by Knoor Maggi where it's star-prize of 43"Inches Plasma TV was won and presented to Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, Chief Whip ENHA/Member representing Awgu North Constituency. Awgu women on the other hand also won two trophies in the Match Past & Food Exhibition competitions organised. 



Congratulating Awgu women over their victories in the match past and food exhibition competitions, Chief Whip, assured the women that God was yet to start the unleashing of the blessings he has in stock for the women of Awgu, stating that the victory was only but the beginning of more victories to come. Chief Whip thereafter, danced with the women round the field with their trophies to celebrate the victories. 




Agudo women in their numbers were also at Okpara Square to add colour to the event.

Mrs Jane Eneh (Chief Whip ENHA), Evangelist Dr. Favour Ugwuanyi (Chairman, Post Primary School Management Board - PPSMB), Rt. Hon. Princess Peace Nnaji (Commissioner for Gender Affairs and Social Development), Mrs Joy Egolum (Corporate Affairs Manager, Nigeria Breweries Plc - East), Mrs Celestina Uchenna Nwankwo (Wife of Awgu Council Chairman), Chairpersons across the 17 Local Government Areas in the state, etc.
