ENUGU @31: CHIEF WHIP ENHA, ENEH CALLS FOR LOVE, UNITY, RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER

PRESS RELEASE

As Enugu State marks the 31st anniversary of its creation today saturday, August 27, Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, Member representing Awgu North Constituency has called for love, unity and respect for one another irrespective of our inherent cultural inclinations, religious divides and political affiliations in the state.

In paying tributes to the sacrifices and legacies of our founding fathers, Chief Whip commended the efforts of the successive governments who have continued to uphold the dreams upon which the creation of the state was anchored.

The creation of Enugu State on 27th of August 1991, by the then Gen. Ibrahim Babangida Administration was a God-designed project for a purpose - fulfilment of a dream of a given set of people who have a date with destiny. So, Gov. Ugwuanyi is not out of place in saying that "Enugu State is in the hands of God". The carving out of Enugu State from the Old Anambra State was indeed a fulfilled dream for the people of "Wawa land".

The ideal, philosophy and dream of our founding fathers, both alive and those of blessed memory, was for Ndi Enugu to be one by loving, respecting and uniting with one another for a unity of purpose which is "having a wawa state we can call our own where peace and progress strives". Such is the same legacy that Gov. Ugwuanyi has been making concerted efforts and sacrifices in upholding too in this his administration. So, let's join hands together as a people, together with the government of the day in preserving this sustainable peace legacy for our children and also for the other generations ahead.

Chief Whip made this call during a media interactive chat with the media team of JANE-CARESTV this weekend.

Today's Enugu State is an outcome of a dream and effort of our founding fathers borne out of love, unity and respect for one another. Let us in our own generation too, preserve these virtues and legacy by paying more attentions to the course of our actions and inactions, Chief Whip advises.
