The people of Mbanabo, in Awgu North Constituency, Awgu local government area, today Tuesday, Nov. 22nd, trooped out en masse to welcome the PDP Governorship candidate in the State, Dr. Peter Mbah, his running mate, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, the PDP Chairman in the state, Hon. Augustine Nnamani, other PDP candidates in the state, the Director-General of the party's state campaign organization, Chief Ikeje Asogwa and his team, among others, for a "Town Hall Meeting". 

The Town Hall Meeting which was organised to avail members of Mbanabo communities, an opportune moment to interact with their Guber Aspirant, Dr. Peter Mbah about his manifesto and plans in advancing good governance in the state when elected into power, recorded huge success in the turn out of community leaders, church leaders, traders, women & youth groups, farmers, PDP leaders & faithful, political appointees, political leaders, captains of industries, as well as other stakeholders from the communities, who took turn to express their concerns requiring intervention from Mbah's administration. At Mbanabo North, the opening prayer was said by Engr. Chris Enebe while the kolanut was broken by the traditional ruler of Akanwu-Agbogugu, HRH Igwe M. O. Onuorah.  

The jubilant people of Mbanabo during the town hall meeting held at St. Vincent Sec. Sch, Agbogugu for the people of Mbanabo North Development Centre and Central Sch, Owelli for the people of Mbanabo South Development Centre, demonstrated through their actions, their 100% acceptance of PDP in the region, as well as their commitment in delivering all the party candidates to a landslide victory in the 2023 poll . 

Welcoming the PDP Governorship candidate in the state, Dr. Peter Mbah and his team to Mbanabo; Member representing Awgu/Aninri/Oji-River Federal Constituency/Deputy Minority leader of the HoR, Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu (Iyierioba); the PDP candidate for Enugu West senatorial zone, Engr. Osita Ngwu (RG); the PDP candidate for Aninri/Awgu/Oji-River Federal Constituency, Chief Anayo Onwuegbu (Omeiheukwu); Member representing Awgu North Constituency/PDP candidate for 2023, Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh (Agudo); Member representing Awgu South Constituency, Hon. Johnson Chukwuobasi (Ebelekum); Awgu Council Chairman, Hon. Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo (Eze-Ome-Ogo); Former Awgu Council Mayor, Hon. Stanley Okeke (Atu Ogbaku); the Administrator of Mbanabo North Development Centre, Hon. Solomon Egbo (Oba N'ihe); the councillor representing Owelli/Ogugu/Ugbo/Amoli ward, Hon. Brown Moses Okolie, all welcomed Dr. Mbah's team and reiterated their commitment towards the party's victory in the 2023 poll, based on their grassroot structures that are already on ground.

In her speech, Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, Member representing Awgu North Constituency, assured Dr. Mbah that Awgu is PDP, so he should expect 100% votes from Awgu in the 2023 poll. She (Chief Whip) equally called for a minute silence and prayers for the repose of the souls of the two blood brothers (Former Enugu State Commissioner for Rural Development and Former Council Chairman of Oji-River, late Hon. Onuzulike Azubuike Gabriel and his elder brother, late Hon. Elvis Onuzulike) who were both murdered in cold blood last week. As a sign of mourning for the two party chieftains, Enugu West leaders had a piece of black cloth tied around their arms, during the event. 

Endorsing Peter Mbah/Ossai candidature for the 2023 state guber; Former leader ENHA, Rt. Hon. SKE Udeokoye; Commissioner for Culture & Culture, Hon. Ugonna Ibeh; Former Commissioner for Education & Health, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike; the Traditional ruler of Enuguoke Ihe, HRH Igwe M. A. O. Ibeziakor (Okaobuluzo 1); Former Commissioner for Agriculture, Prof. Martin Anikwe, all from Mbanabo North, urged Dr. Mbah to help complete the project at university of education ihe, revamp the region's healthcare centres, build agro-allied Industry, maintain evenly distribution of key political appointments in the state and most importantly, stick to the age-long established zoning formula by ceding power to the people of Greater Awgu after his administration. The people of Mbanabo North expressed confidence that the guber candidate has the intellectual nitty-gritty, industrial expertise, capacity and proven competence to make a huge difference in the lives of the people when elected into power.

Endorsing the candidature of Dr. Peter Mbah/Ossai further, the traditional ruler of Owelli Community, HRH Igwe Francis Okeke (Owelle 1 of Owelli), who broke the kolanut during the interactive engagements at Mbanabo South, also presented on behalf of the other monarchs in the region, an "ófò staff" to Dr. Mbah, to indicate the community's support and solidarity to him ahead of the 2023 poll. 

Speaking on the concern of the people of Mbanabo South; Justice Reuben Onuorah (Rtd), Chief Arinze Obasi, among others, urged Dr. Mbah to also add to his project plan; long age neglect of the people of owelli in the key political appointments in the state, youth empowerment/employments, Industrialisation, Mechanized farming, as well as improved security architecture in the state, which will enhance enabling environment for the people of the area who are dominantly agrarians to strive in their farming activities.

Responding to the areas of concern pointed out by the communities, Dr. Mbah assured the people that their points have been duly noted down and would be receiving attention once they are voted into power in 2023. "We are here for a serious business, interfacing with you will help us ascertain how best our project plan in our manifesto can be properly channelled across the grassroots. I want to assure you that we're documenting every issue raised here and we shall do our best in ensuring that ndi Enugu witnesses the transformation agenda which our administration promises, in fulfilment of our social contract with the people of the state", Dr. Mbah stated. 

Stressing further, Dr. Mbah explained that his administration will focus its attention on technological transformation of agriculture from its present sub-optimal/low production level to agro-allied industrialisation, with the state targeting not only on consumption alone but at exportation of agricultural produce too, in increasing its GDP.  We have plans to help the farmers scale up their productions through mechanized farming. Another sector that will also be receiving attention from our administration is oil & gas investments, among others. 

University of Education ihe, shall also receive an attention in terms of completion of the project, since it has been approved already. We have it on our project plan. 

We have many programs in our manifesto. We have plans for overhauling of the heathcare system. We shall build new ones that would be 24hrs functional and also upgrade the existing ones already on ground. We shall make plans too, to drive tourism to generate additional revenue for the state. Other concerted efforts shall also be channelled on improving quality education, provision of portable water for all, extension of rural electrification, among others. Youth empowerment, shall also constitute parts of our social contract with ndi Enugu.
