In this year's annual event of Awgu 2022 Head Teachers and Teachers Award ceremony organised by Awgu local government council through the office of Awgu Education secretary, Mrs Nwakaego Ajah, yesterday wednesday, Nov. 30, some Head teachers and teachers were presented with cash rewards, plaques and certificates of award in recognition for their outstanding performances, punctuality and diligence to duty.  


Speaking during the event, the PDP candidate for Enugu West Senatorial Zone, Engr. Osita Ngwu (RG), the PDP candidate for Aninri/Awgu/Oji-River Federal Constituency, Chief Anayo Onwuegbu (Omeiheukwu), Member representing Awgu North Constituency/PDP candidate, Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh (Agudo), PDP candidate for Awgu South Constituency, Hon. Tony Nwankwo (Okwadike), all congratulated the recipients of the award and lauded their record of outstanding performances in their line of duty. The school Heads alongside with their teachers were generally encouraged to top up their game, as they are essentially important in building and impacting values to the society through their roles in pupils' upbringing.  

Presenting an award to one of the teachers from her constituency, Chief Whip enjoined other teachers to see the award as a motivation in reaching for the stars while in their various line of duty. 


In their response, the teachers who expressed joy and happiness over the awards, also took turn to table down the areas needing intervention in their various schools to the PDP candidates, so that once they assume office in 2023, they should include them in their project plan. 


In her remark, Mrs Nwakaego Ajah thanked the council chairman, Hon. Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo for his support to the educational sector. Speaking further, Mrs Ajah also thanked the invited guests for their presence and motivations to the teachers. She tasked on the teachers to continue to keep the flag of excellence flying in their various schools. 

Other dignitaries present at the event includes; Awgu Council Chairman, Hon. Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo; Member representing Oji-River Constituency, Hon. Jeff Mbah; Commissioner for Science & Technology, Hon. (Sir) Obi Carl Kamah; Administrator, Mbanabo North Dev. Centre, Hon. Solomon Egbo; Administrator, Awgu Central Dev. Centre, Hon. Maximus Oha; Fontana Oil & Hotels Ltd, Chief Ossy Nwobi; Chief Emeka Udeh (Udemex); Awgu LG Secretary, Hon. Linus Maduka; CEO Blessed Destiny Energy Ltd, Chief Gilbert Onuoha (ijiji AnaEsoruMma); Awgu councillors, Supervisors, political appointees and a host of other stakeholders.
