CHIEF WHIP ENHA, ENEH, SUPPORTERS ATTEND ENUGU STATE PDP CAMPAIGN FLAG-OFF IN GRAND STYLE

Mammoth crowd today Friday, January 27th at Okpara Square, Independence layout Enugu, as the Enugu State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), officially flagged off its campaign for the 2023 General Election. 

Attending the event, Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, Member representing Awgu North Constituency/PDP candidate for 2023, in company of her Supporters graced the flag off ceremony with songs of support and solidarity to the party. 

In his welcome speech, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi thanked ndi Enugu for all their support to his administration, stressing that his win is a win for everyone in the state. Gov. Ugwuanyi while imploring all to join hands together to vote massively for the governorship candidate, Dr. Peter Mbah and all the PDP candidates in the state during the election, expressed confidence that his administration will end in praise. 


In their separate speeches, Group of G-5 Governors (Nyesome Ezenwo Wike of Rivers, Dr. Samuel Ortom of Benue and Engr. Seyi Makinde of Oyo state) who attended the event in Enugu commended their colleague, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his laudable exemplary leaders in the state and enjoined the people of Enugu State to vote for PDP victory in the Governorship, State and National Assembly elections in the state.


Describing Gov. Ugwuanyi as a dependable colleague who believes in the principles of justice, equity and fairness which the G-5 Governors stand for, G-5 Governors assured the people of Enugu of their continuous support and solidarity to the party.  


Thanking the people of Enugu State onbehalf of all the PDP candidates in the state, for their love and support so far, after receiving the PDP flag from the Deputy National Chairman of the party (South), Amb. Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja, the PDP Governorship candidate, Dr. Peter Mbah thanked the G-5 Governors for their supports, solidarity and unrelenting efforts towards ensuring equity within our political space. Please permit me to also laud the giant political feat of Gov. Ugwuanyi-led administration, I promise to consolidate on the gains already on ground in putting our state further into the global map, if elected into power, Dr. Mbah assured ndi Enugu. 


Speaking further, Dr. Mbah who appealed with Ndi Enugu to translate same support and solidarity at the poll because our "Tomorrow is indeed Here", also commiserated with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the good people of Abia State over the demise of their PDP Governorship candidate, Prof. Uchenna Ikonne, assuring that our hearts and prayers are with the family of the deceased.  

The people of Enugu State in one voice reiterated their commitments and endorsement of the party for a more united, focused and people-oriented leadership. This came as Dr. Afam Ani of Action People's Party (APP) who led leaders of 12 registered political parties in Enugu State to declare their support for all the PDP candidates in the state. 

In his speech, Dr. Afam Ani who spoke onbehalf of the leaders of the 12 political parties who collapsed their structures for PDP, stated that the decision for such endorsement and partnership was borne out of solidarity to Gov. Ugwuanyi-led administration for his all-inclusive governance, humility and track records in the state. 


Other speakers at the event includes; the Enugu state PDP Chairman, Hon. Augustine Nnamani, the Director-General (DG) of PDP State Campaign Council, Chief Ikeje Asogwa, among others. They appreciated the G-5 Governors and assured them that PDP is prepared and positioned in sweeping the February 25th and March 11th polls. 




The event had other dignitaries in attendance which includes; The Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo; the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi; Former Deputy Governors, Ezenwata Okechukwu Itanyi, Hon. Sunday Onyebuchi and Bishop Ralph Nwoye; PDP National Vice Chairman (South East) Chief Ali Odefa; his South South counterpart, Chief Dan Orbih; Party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai; Wife of Former Governor of old Enugu State, Dr. Mrs. Dorothy Nwodo; Deputy Minority Leader, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu; Members of the State House of Assembly; State Exco Members; Chief Hyde Onuaguluchi, Senator Ben Collins Ndu; Chief Maxi Ukuta, Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Amb. Emmanuel Edeh and other clergymen, PDP Presidential Aspirant, Barr. Charlie Ugwu, Council Chairmen and their Deputies, Commissioners, Board Members, PDP Local Government and Ward Excos, 260 Ward Councillors, Former and Serving leaders in the state, Stakeholders across the seventeen (17) local government areas in the state, State and local government political appointees, Traditional Rulers, Party Chieftains and party faithful, among others. 



Enugu State is truly in the hands of God because Our Tomorrow is Here.
