Mothering Sunday is a celebration set aside for people to visit their mother churches, where one was baptised. Mothering Sundays are held every fourth Sunday in lent, before Easter. Mothers are special people on earth, so the day is carved out to celebrate them for their roles in bringing one closer to God through the church.  It's a day to show love and appreciation to Mothers all over the world through act of kindness and giving of gifts.

In this year's Mothering Sunday Celebration, Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, Member representing Awgu North Constituency calls for appreciation and respect to Mothers.

In her message made available to JANE-CARESTV, Chief Whip said Mothers' bond, contributions and blessings are very key to our societal, family, religious, cultural and political progress.

Stating further, Chief Whip encourages Awgu North women not to relent in their prayers for their children and the society at large. This is the material time that our supports and prayers are needed most for a very peaceful post election process and transition of power in the state, Chief Whip says.

Chief Whip also urged the men folk to keep supporting women in their endeavours and careers other than seeing them as second class beings. For development of our society, there must be a good synergy and collaborative effort amongst the men, women and the youths, Chief Whip added.
