Chief Whip ENHA, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, Member representing Awgu North has congratulated His Excellency, Hon. (Dr.) Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and Hon. (Barr.) Ifeanyi Ossai on their successful swearing-in as the Executive Governor and Deputy Governor of Enugu State.
Enugu Governor-Elect, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and Deputy Governor-Elect, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai were today Monday, 29th of May 2023, sworn-in as the Executive Governor and Deputy Governor of the state, in a well-attended hand over ceremony held at Michael Okpara Square, Independence layout, Enugu.
Chief Whip in her congratulatory message after the inauguration ceremony, said Gov. Peter Mbah and Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai have kept faith with destiny.
We are very much optimistic that you will continue to keep faith with the people by consolidating on the gains already on ground in moving the state to greater heights, Chief Whip said.
Our state may not have been where it should be in areas of economy and infrastructure, but it has improved tremendously under the previous administration. Though, we are hopeful this administration will build on Gov. Ugwuanyi's legacy to improve on these areas and many other sectors further.
"With your purposeful leadership expertise in the private sector, we are confident you will use your wealth of experience in the private sector to steer our state in the right direction," Chief Whip added.
Chief Whip also used the occasion of the peaceful transition ceremony to thank and commend Gov. Ugwuanyi-led administration once more for the infrastructural, peace and security legacies, all-inclusive governance, among other policies, which brought a good number of women and youths into limelight in the state. His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, proved to Ndi Enugu and the world at large, that he is indeed, a humane and peace-loving leader (Ezeudo). Gov. Ugwuanyi's handling of Covid-19 pandemic and the extra miles he went into building of Type-3 health care centres, earned him both national and international applause, which is a true testimony of his leadership qualities, Chief Whip added.
Going further, Chief Whip reminds ndi Enugu that Governor Peter Mbah came prepared with his top-notch seven-point agenda on Integrated sector-based productivity growth, referred to as TRACCIE, which is an acronym for - Tourism Development; Rural & Urban Infrastructure; Agriculture; Commerce & Industry; Creative Industries; ICT; and Energy & Mineral resources.
"It's time to put every distractions behind you, get down to the business of governance and set the ball rolling. It's time to walk the talk with positive results on your social contract with Ndi Enugu. It's time to win back the confidence of the people in democracy and good governance. It's time to prove to the doubting Thomases of 'Tomorrow is Here' that you are actually the right man for the job," Chief Whip pleads with Gov. Mbah.
"On behalf of myself, family and the good people of Awgu North Constituency, I convey our hearty congratulations to you once more, Your Excellency, Hon. (Dr.) Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and Hon. (Barr.) Ifeanyi Ossai on your assumption of office as the 5th Governor and Deputy Governor of Enugu State".
With your vast experience in the private sector, our journey to a viable administration and state is indeed a goal.
"Be assured of my utmost support always and those of my constituents' in general".
