The Enugu state governor, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah has assigned portfolios to his 21 Commissioners following their inauguration yesterday, thursday, August 10.
Briefing newsmen shortly after their first exco meeting today Friday, August 11, the secretary to the state government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia, gave their portfolios as follows:
1. Professor Ndubueze Mbah— Education
2. Mrs. Ngozi Eni— Gender affairs and Social Development
3. Prince Lawrence Eze (Prince of Mburumbu)— Lands and Urban Development
4. Professor Sam Ugwu— Environment and Climate
5. Pharmacist Chika Ugwoke— Labour and Employment
6. Dr. Kingsley Ude— Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice
7. Professor Emmanuel I. Obi— Health
8. Deacon Okey Ogbodo— Local Government, Rural Development and Chieftaincy Affairs
9. Ben Ugochi Madueke— Tourism and Culture
10. Barr. Lord I. Ekweremadu— Youths and Sports
11. Engr. Gerrald Otiji— Works and Infrastructure
12. Nathaniel Urama— Finance and Economic Development
13. Dr. Malachy Agbo— Human Development and Poverty Eradication
14. Mr. Aka Eze Aka— Information
15. Adaora Chukwu— Trade Investment and Industry
17.Dr. Martin Chinweike— Housing
18. Obi Ozor— Transport
19. Ajogwu Sunday Emeka— Special Duties

Reacting to the news, the Deputy Minority Leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Chinwe Eneh lauds Gov. Mbah for his administrative steadfastness and assigned portfolios given to Awgu commissioners, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike (commissioner for housing) and Mrs Ada Chukwu (commissioner for trade investment and industry.
Charging Dr. Martin Chukwunweike and Mrs Ada Chukwu to get down to work and hit the ground running, Mrs Eneh advises they bring their capacity and competence to bear in delivering on their new state assignments.
