100 DAYS IN OFFICE: ENUGU DEPUTY MINORITY LEADER, ENEH FELICITATES WITH GOV. MBAH, LAUDS HIS LEADERSHIP SCORECARD

The Deputy Minority leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Chinwe Eneh has conveyed her heartfelt felicitations to the executive governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on the occasion of his 100 days in office. 

In her message, The Deputy Minority Leader lauds Gov. Mbah for his giant political feat in the state within this short period of his stay in office. 

The full text of the message reads thus; 

I write on behalf of myself, family and the good people of Awgu North Constituency to warmly and heartily congratulate you - an inspiring leader, a role model, an exemplary leader, an altruistic personality, a versatile administrator, a technocrat, an intellectual of rare breed, a working governor and an eagle diplomat, Your Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on the occasion of your first 100 Days in Office as the Executive Governor of Enugu State. 

Your Excellency, within the last 100 days, you have clearly demonstrated that leadership is not in age, but in experience encapsulated in strategically defined vision, well-directed proactiveness, and collectivity. 

Your inspiring leadership quality is further reflected in your tireless devotion to duties, in your pragmatic management of issues as well as in your amazing deployment of intelligence to solve knotty problems. 

The results are visible on the lips of Ndi Enugu and also in the style of governance you have brought to bear. Prudent management of resources, business unusual style of governance, restructuring and reorganization of state administration, sound administrative management  and overall enhancement of the corporate image of governance, all bear true testimonies to the technocrat in you.

In the past 100 days, the litany of achievements recorded in your name are scorecards of effective leadership. The state has witnessed tremendous achievements in - 

Peace and Security 

Putting an end to the illegal 'Sit-at-home' order in the state is a big boost to the commercial value of the state. Your efforts at fighting and winning the war against insecurity, commitment to providing a safe, secure and peaceful environment for investors, procurement of security vehicles for Distress Respond Squad (DRS) and a creation of formidable synergy among the security agencies in the state, are all true testimonies of your giant political feat. I commend you, Your Excellency Sir. 

Water

Hope of having water flowing again in Enugu State is alive. With your intervention so far, the state is working at generating 125, 000 cubic metres of water before 180 days. Judging from the catalyst of massive work ongoing at Nineth Mile and Iva Valley Crash, reservoir facilities, Abaja Ngwo and Nsude Break pressure tanks, Milliken Hill, Emene North East Tank, Oji and Ajali water schemes, amongst others, at least over 18 industrial boreholes running at 150 horsepower pumps each have been activated. Kudos to your effective and efficient leadership qualities. 

Economy 

In your commitment to moving the state from a public sector-driven economy to private sector-driven economy, in meeting up with your manifesto deliverables on $30 billion gross domestic product (GDP) growth through disruptive innovation, we have seen your administration's efforts at wooing investors to the state through several investment opportunities that are readily available.

Naval Base

The state is blessed to have a technocrat and think-tank like you. News of your recent moves at getting the navy set up a naval base in ogurugu nsukka is a thing of joy and also worthy of commendation, too. 

Waste Management 

In your promise of turning waste to wealth, your efforts at adopting modern waste management system, refuse disposal, procurement of compactor trucks, and training of personnel have given fresh breath back to Enugu. A few months ago, the state was an object of ridicule with heaps of foul-smelling refuse and garbage found littered around the streets of Enugu. But today, your effort at turning waste to wealth is gradually materialising. 

ICT

Presently, there is an ongoing plan at constructing the state-of-the-art model school for a digital revolution in the state. The model of the school is targeted at exposing every child in the state who has attained the age of three to information and communication technology (ICT), which will enable them compete favourably with their counterparts in the developed countries. Also worthy of mention is your policy on disruptive innovation and digital transformation of the public service through e-governance that we now witness in the state ministries and agencies. 

Poverty Eradication 

In your effort at eradicating poverty among the citizenry, by bringing poverty index to zero percent, you have activated payment of arrears of pensions and 17 years of gratuities owed to retirees in the state and local governments. 

Roads

In your reform for good and accessible roads in the state, at least 81 roads have been identified for construction and completion before the end of this year 2023. 

Tourism 

Enugu State is now positioned to be a tourist centre for the people of southeast. Courtesy of your vision and dreams for the state. 

Electricity 

News carried it recently that your administration is working towards having a state-owned power generating plant. This is a welcomed development for the people of the state and investors as well. 

Palliative 

Recently, you inaugurated the state and ward committees for the distribution of palliative to the vulnerables in the state at the grassroots. This approach is to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal in the country.

Your Excellency Sir, with these, among others in just 100 days in office, and hope of more to come too, your name in the Enugu State good book of history is sacrosanct.  

I earnestly pray to God to grant you more wisdom and grace for more historic successes in the remaining days, months, and years ahead throughout this your administration. 

Once again, accept the hearty felicitations of the good people of Awgu North Constituency and my candid personal wishes on the occasion of your first 100 days in office as Governor of Enugu State.
