Catholic Women Organization (CWO), St. Gabriel The Archangel Parish, Idaw-River Phase 11, Awkunanaw Enugu, has honoured the Deputy Minority leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Chinwe Eneh with a humanitarian service award.

The Chairperson, Parish CWO, Queen Oby Odionyenma said during the presentation of the award on its '2023 September Conference' held on Saturday, September 30, that the award was in recognition of Eneh's efforts and humanitarian services in advancing the work of christ within and outside her constituency.

The award was presented to the deputy minority leader in St. Gabriel The Archangel Parish, Idaw-River, by the Chairperson in the presence of the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Damian Egboka and the Auxillary Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most. Rev. Dr. Ernest Obodo.

Speaking after receiving the award, Mrs Eneh expressed appreciation to the women and also to the church for finding her worthy to be bestowed with such an award.

"I was the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) President for 20 years. Even as a political office holder, I still find joy associating with my fellow CWOs and their programs. Most importantly, I do not joke with devotion to our Mother Mary. On entering the church premises, I was so disturbed that I couldn't find the grotto of our blessed virgin mary standing within the premises. That moved me to make a donation of it to your parish. Our mother mary is the one who made me whomever I am today. So, I derive joy seeing her statue in every parish I go," Mrs Eneh stated.

Mrs Eneh dedicated the award received to Mother Mary and pledged to continue to do more acts of charity and humanitarian services in promoting the work of christ, church and humanity in general within the available resources in her capacity.

Highlights of the event include cutting of conference cake, dancing by the women, blessing from the bishop, among others.

Through Mary, our Mother, We succeed.
