                          Gov. Peter Mbah

The Deputy Minority leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Chinwe Eneh has lauded Gov. Mbah, on walking the talk in providing water for the state in 180 days, as he promised during his campaign.

At the commissioning of the 9th Mile 24/7 Water Scheme on Saturday, November 25, Gov. Mbah, in his speech, emphasized the importance of water in people's lives, stating that it was needless lecturing Enugu community about its necessity and roles in agriculture, industrial development, domestic use, among others.

Expressing gratitude to the individuals and organisations involved in the successful completion of the project, Gov. Mbah stated that "no one needed to sermonize to us on the centrality of water to our people's existence."

Speaking with JANE-CARESTV on the Enugu Water Project Milestone achievement, the deputy minority leader said, "There is no doubt that the commissioning of this scheme will bring to an the perennial water scarcity Ndi Enugu experiences during the dry season."

The deputy minority leader therefore charged Ndi Enugu to take full responsibility in safe-guarding the water pipes that had been laid on the ground to connect different areas within the state, adding that the governor's concerted efforts in making water flow again in the state was a clear indication of Gov. Mbah's love for the people.

Today, Enugu state can boast of water production at the volume of 120,000 cubic metres (120 million litres) daily. This is the first time ever Ndi Enugu gets such a volume of potable water and twice the water needs of Enugu metropolis. Gov. Mbah has indeed walked the talk on his campaign promise to Ndi Enugu, which is worthy of commendation, Mrs Eneh added.

Ndi Enugu, let's rejoice together for "Our Tomorrow is finally Here."
