JUST-IN: "CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNING TEAM, OUR JOY IS COMPLETE"  - ENUGU DEPUTY MINORITY LEADER, ENEH SAYS AS GOV. MBAH, SEN. NGWU WIN AT APPEAL COURT

The Deputy Minority leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Chinwe Eneh has conveyed her heartfelt felicitations to Gov. Peter Mbah and Sen. Osita Ngwu.

The court of appeal sitting in Lagos has dismissed the appeal filed by the Labour Party candidates against the rulings of the Enugu State Guber and National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal that affirmed Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and Engr. Osita Ngwu, both of People's Democratic Party (PDP), as the duly elected candidates for the Enugu State governor and senator representing Enugu West Senatorial Zone, respectively.

The judges, in their separate judgments delivered on Thursday, November 9, ruled that the appeal against the tribunal rulings that Peter Mbah and Osita Ngwu were the rightful winners of the March 18th and February 25th elections, lacked merit.

Speaking with JANE-CARESTV shortly after the Appeal Court rulings, the deputy minority leader congratulated Gov. Mbah and Sen. Ngwu on their victories at the Appellate Court.

She said the verdict of the appellate court was a welcomed development, adding that the PDP victory is a victory for our state and nation's democracy, and also a reaffirmation of the powers of the judiciary to act as an unbiased umpire.

"I welcome the judgement of the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos on the Enugu Guber and National Assembly Election Petitions with immense joy and appreciation to the judiciary for doing justice on the matter," Mrs Eneh said.

"I must commend the courage and sagacity exhibited by the panel of the court, which ruled that the Labour Party failed woefully to prove beyond reasonable doubt their allegations upon Peter Mbah and Osita Ngwu, respectively."

"On behalf of myself, PDP Awgu North Constituency campaign team and the good people of Awgu North, I congratulate Gov. Mbah and Sen. Ngwu on their well-deserved victories," Mrs Eneh added.

"This victory is for Ndi Enugu, so I urge the Labour Party to sheath their swords and work for the interest of the people of the state," she stated.

Our Tomorrow is finally here.
