ENUGU DEPUTY MINORITY LEADER, ENEH COMMENDS GOV. MBAH ON FREE EDUCATION, JAMB FORM TO STUDENTS

The Deputy Minority leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh (JP) has lauded Governor Peter Mbah's genuine efforts in advancing education to higher pedestal in the state.

The Enugu State government, in a statement signed on February 2, 2024, by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, suspended all fees/levies from Junior Secondary School one to three (JSS1-3) in all public schools in the state.

The suspension became necessary to enable the state government to investigate illegal extortion of students across public schools in the state.

In another publication, making rounds on social media, the state government, through the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Aka Eze Aka, announced offer of free JAMB forms to indigent students and applicants, who could not obtain the current form now on sale, due to financial constraints, to visit the office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communication in the state for necessary documentations.

Speaking with JANE-CARESTV on the governor's offer of free education to children in public schools in the state from junior secondary one to three (JSS1-3), as well as free JAMB forms to indigent students, the deputy minority leader maintained that Gov. Mbah has, through these gestures, demonstrated his deep interest in giving quality education to the children of the state.

The deputy minority leader enjoin parents/guardians in her constituency to reciprocate the governor's thoughtfulness in advancing education by ensuring that they enrol their children/wards of school age in school, instead of engaging them in hawking and other degrading practices.

Mrs Eneh also called on teachers across the public schools in the state to redouble their efforts in the classroom by being more dedicated to their duties. Doing this will enable students to get the best from their services, Mrs Eneh advised.

Mrs Eneh assures the governor that she will collaborate with stakeholders in her constituency to ensure that children are mobilized to school to benefit from these wonderful opportunities provided by his administration, in improving the standard of education in the state.

Expressing appreciation, on behalf of her constituents, to Gov. Mbah-led administration for placing premium on the development of the educational sector, as well as attainment of quality education in the state, Mrs Eneh urge students to strive hard to pass their examinations, so as to make their parents, community, constituency, and the state proud.

Truly, Our long awaited tomorrow is here with us.
