The Deputy Minority leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh has congratulated the six lawmakers who officially defected from the Labour Party to the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The six Labour Party (LP) lawmakers made their defection known in Enugu on Thursday, March 28, in a letter read by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu, during the plenary at the Assembly Legislative Complex.

The names of those who defected and their respective state constituencies are Ejike Eze of Igbo-Eze North 1, Johnson Ugwu of Enugu South and North Constituency, Princess Ugwu of Enugu South Rural Constituency, Pius Ezeugwu of Nsukka West Constituency, Amuka Williams of Igbo-Etiti East Constituency, and Osita Eze of Oji-River Constituency.

In a statement made available to JANE-CARESTV, the deputy lawmaker said, "On behalf of myself, Constituency and PDP lawmakers, I heartily congratulate the six Labour Party lawmakers on their well thought out decision to formally defect to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) today, to join the ruling People's Democratic Party in the state.

"You will recall that Enugu State has been a PDP state since 1999 until the last administration, when opposition sets in, during the 2023 general election. As a state, we have always enjoyed a peaceful coexistence as one big and united family under the umbrella. I commend you all for recognizing this fact and doing the needful for the good of our dear state."

"As you join us back under the PDP umbrella fold, our expectation is that your coming will enrich you to be consultative, inclusive, democratic, transparent, and accountable because these are the hallmarks of what this present administration represents."

"We also expect that your presence in the PDP will further strengthen the party and improve our fortunes in the state. I have no doubt that the PDP family in the state has received you back with open arms, and you will join hands with us in supporting Gov. Mbah-led administration in repositioning our dear state to the path of unprecedented socio-economic and sociopolitical developments."

"Our core objective remains to forge a stronger, united, and formidable party that will deliver the dividends of democracy and good governance to Ndi Enugu, irrespective of political affiliation, ethnicity, and religion. I trust that you are well in tandem with this. Once again, congratulations and welcome back to the People's Democratic Party (PDP)."

Truly, our tomorrow is here!!
