MOTHERING SUNDAY 2024: ENUGU DEPUTY MINORITY LEADER, ENEH CALLS FOR APPRECIATION, RESPECT OF MOTHERHOOD, LAUDS ENUGU FIRST LADY FOR EXEMPLARY MOTHERLY LOVE TO NDI ENUGU

The Deputy Minority leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh (JP) has congratulated Awgu North women on the occasion of Mothering Sunday Celebration. 

Mother's Day is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in May, though also in March, as a day to honour mothers and motherhood. 

Like every other tradition and festivity, Mothering Sundays are held every fourth Sunday in lent. Mothers are special people on earth, so the day is carved out to celebrate them for their roles in bringing one closer to God through the church. It's a day to show love and appreciation to mothers all over the world through acts of kindness and giving of gifts.

In this year's Mothering Sunday Celebration, the deputy minority has called for appreciation and respect to motherhood, stating that mother's bond, contributions, and blessings are very key to our societal, family, religious, cultural and political progress and developments.

Stating further, the deputy minority leader, who is also the chairman, House Committee on children, gender affairs, and social development, urges the men folks to keep supporting women in their various life endeavours, for the development of our society requires a good synergy and collaborative efforts among the men, women and the youths constituency. 

"Encouraging Awgu North women not to relent in their prayers for their children and the society at large, the deputy minority leader urges constituents to continue to support Gov. Mbah-led administration for accelerated in the state."

Lauding the wife of the governor, Her Excellency, Mrs Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah for her exemplary leadership, humility, affection, moral etiquette, selfless services to humanity, empowerment of Enugu women and emerging female entrepreneurs, among others, the deputy minority said "Enugu First Lady is a good role model whose generosity and integrity shines like a beacon across the state for every woman to emulate." 

"Her Excellency, Mrs Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah, is an extraordinary woman and a leader, whose vision is for the rise of women in every life endeavours. She pays attention to the smallest details and also to the largest issues that affect women and children in the state. Her open door policy is a top-notch. She is kind and loyal. So, let us remember her in our prayers as we celebrate Mothering Sunday today," the deputy minority added.
