ENUGU DEPUTY MINORITY LEADER, ENEH RECEIVES IN COURTESY VISIT IGWE-ELECT OF OGUGU COMMUNITY, ASSURES CONSTITUENTS OF MORE DIVIDENDS OF DEMOCRACY

The Deputy Minority leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, on tuesday, May 7, received in courtesy visit the Igwe-Elect of Ogugu Community, in her office at the Enugu State House of Assembly complex, Independence layout, Enugu.

Speaking during the visit, the Igwe-Elect of Ogugu Community in Awgu local government area of Enugu State, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr, thanked the lawmaker for granting him and his people audience irrespective of the short notice to her about the visit. 

In his speech, Chief Aloysius Ogbonna stated that the visit was for the purpose of familiarization and also an opportune moment to thank her, for her giant political feat in Ogugu community, which includes school reconstruction project attracted, repair of the damaged school chairs and lockers, distribution of learning aids to pupils in primary school, distribution of new chairs and tables to teachers and students, having the people of the community among her appointees in her first and present tenure, facilitating of state government jobs for his people, scholarship to ten indigent students since their JSS1 to this their present SS2 class, annual welfare packages and beautification of widows, empowerment of women, periodic giveaway of free fuel to their youths who are okada riders, among others. 

Commending the lawmaker and the Enugu State House of Assembly Members for their people-oriented laws for the state, stating that history will forever remember them for good, Chief Ogbonna advocated for more developmental projects for the community such as construction of Umuike-Ugwuoma-Ibite internal community road network, citing of type-2 primary healthcare centre, among others, which are some of their basic needs. 

Assuring the deputy minority leader of the full support of Ogugu people always, Chief Ogbonna reiterates the community's commitment to partnering with Gov. Mbah-led administration to succeed. 

Responding, the deputy minority leader congratulated Chief Ogbonna on his emergence as the Igwe-Elect of Ogugu Community after so many years of the community living with no traditional ruler. She urged him to lead with the fear of God and carry his subjects along while performing his duties, in the interest of peace and for the overall development of his community and the state at large. 

Emphasizing the importance of partnership with the traditional rulers across her constituency, the deputy minority leader stated that the teamwork enhances inclusive governance and also bring about more development. 

Assuring the Igwe-Elect and his community that more developmental projects would be attracted across the constituency to consolidate on the gains already on ground, the deputy minority leader stated that there are already lots of developmental projects ongoing across the state. 

"Currently, construction of smart school and Type-2 healthcare facilities are ongoing across the wards in the state, and our constituency is not left out in this development, which we are all witnesses to. All thanks to Gov. Mbah for walking the talk on his promise of disruptive innovation to Ndi Enugu during the campaign." 

"However, there are plans on ground to attract more projects for our people. As a legislator, it is my duty to ensure government's presence across the constituency, aside my primary duty on law making. And I want to assure you and our people that I am committed to this cause," the deputy minority leader stated.

Calling on the people of the community to support their new village head to enable him succeed, the deputy minority leader explained that Nigeria can't be a better place without traditional rulers. Traditional rulers are part of government. And here in Enugu State, the government is committed to partnering with traditional rulers on grassroot development. So lend your support and prayers, let us be partners in progress making," deputy minority leader urged Chief Ogbonna and the community.
