ENUGU DEPUTY MINORITY LEADER, ENEH JOINS FIRST LADY OF THE STATE ON SENSITIZATION AGAINST CHILD LABOUR

The Deputy Minority leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh on Saturday, June 15, joined the wife of the governor, Her Excellency, Mrs Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah, on a road walk sensitization exercise against child labour.
The event was organized by the Office of the Wife of the Governor in partnership with Custos Care Foundation, an NGO dedicated to child welfare.
Sensitization Message
The exercise aimed to:
- Raise awareness about the devastating effects of child labour on children's physical, emotional, and educational well-being.
- Emphasize the collective responsibility of stakeholders in ending child labour and ensuring children's safety and education.
- Urge relevant stakeholders to prioritize children's rights and protection in the state.
Call to Action:
The Deputy Minority leader joins voices with the wife of the governor and women leaders in the state to urge:
- Parents and guardians to ensure their children's education and safety.
- Community leaders to support initiatives against child labour.
- State authority to enforce policies protecting children from exploitation.
- NGOs and organizations to collaborate in the fight against child labour.
"Together, we can create a safer and more enriching environment for our children. Let us join forces to combat child labour and ensure a brighter future for our younger generations," the deputy minority leader advises.
Commending Gov. Peter and his wife for show of human face in the discharge of their duties, the deputy minority leader said, "My sincere appreciation to His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and Her Excellency, the Governor's wife, Mrs Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah for their unwavering commitment to prioritizing the education, safety, and well-being of children in our state, as demonstrated through initiatives like this sensitization exercise against child labour."
