As Enugu State celebrates the 33rd anniversary of its creation today, Tuesday, August 27, the Deputy Minority Leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Jane Chinwe Eneh, has called for a united front in working with Governor Peter Mbah to build the Enugu State of our dreams.

Mrs. Eneh emphasized the importance of unity, urging all stakeholders to put aside politics of division and to come together, regardless of cultural, religious, or political differences, to achieve a shared vision for the state’s future.

Key Points from our Media Session with Mrs. Eneh:

- Call for Unity: Mrs. Eneh stressed that to achieve the desired progress in Enugu State, everyone must contribute, emphasizing the need to avoid divisive politics and focus on unity.

- Tributes to Founding Fathers: She paid tribute to the sacrifices and legacies of the state’s founding fathers, commending the efforts of successive governments in upholding the ideals upon which Enugu State was established.

- Historical Context: Mrs. Eneh reflected on the creation of Enugu State on August 27, 1991, by the then Gen. Ibrahim Babangida-led administration. She described the event as a divinely ordained project, fulfilling the long-held aspirations of the people of "Wawa land" for a state they could call their own.

- Support for Gov. Mbah’s Vision: She endorsed Gov. Mbah’s slogan, "Our Tomorrow is Here," arguing that the dream of a better tomorrow can be realized if all stakeholders work together with the current administration.

- Legacy of the Founding Fathers: The Deputy Minority Leader highlighted the ideals and dreams of the state’s founding fathers—both living and deceased—who envisioned a prosperous Enugu State characterized by love, respect, and unity. She noted that these values remain crucial for the state’s progress and should guide the current generation.

- Preservation of Peace: Mrs. Eneh commended the efforts and sacrifices of Gov. Mbah in striving to uphold these values in his administration. She called on the people of Enugu to join hands with the government in preserving this legacy of peace and progress for future generations.

Mrs. Eneh made these remarks during an interactive session with the media team of JANE-CARESTV on Monday, August 26. She concluded by urging the people of Enugu State to honour the legacy of the state’s founding fathers by acting with love, unity, and respect in their interactions.

"Our Tomorrow is Here!"
