The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) campaign team continued its rally across Awgu Local Government Area on Saturday, September 14, 2024, with visits to Ihe and Owelli/Ugbo/Ogugu/Amoli Wards. Serving and past leaders, stakeholders, party executives, and faithful welcomed the campaign team with great enthusiasm and seized the opportunity to present their community needs and concerns to the chairmanship-hopeful, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo.

During the campaign stops, stakeholders and community leaders highlighted key issues affecting their communities, including infrastructural deficits and the need for better access to social services. They emphasized their hopes for a responsive leadership that would address these longstanding challenges.

In his speech, Hon. Uche Okolo, the PDP’s candidate for the chairmanship election, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and assured the people he attentively listened to their community’s needs and concerns. He laid out his plans for the development of Awgu Local Government, assuring the people that their needs would be prioritized under his leadership. “I have heard your concerns loud and clear, and I want to assure you that my administration will be focused on addressing these issues to ensure that every community in Awgu experiences growth and development,” Hon. Okolo said. He further emphasized the importance of collective efforts and urged the communities to remain united for a common purpose.

The deputy minority leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh, who was on ground to receive the campaign team, commended the people of Ihe and Owelli/Ugbo/Ogugu/Amoli for their turnout and commitment to welcoming the campaign team. She commended the efforts of the stakeholders, community leaders, local government, and ward executives, among others, for their unwavering support in ensuring the success of the PDP’s campaign.

“I am deeply grateful to the people of Ihe and Owelli/Ugbo/Ogugu/Amoli for this wonderful reception and for turning out in good numbers to support our team. Your dedication and hard work show the strength of our party in these wards,” Mrs. Eneh remarked. She acknowledged the crucial role played by stakeholders and community leaders in driving the campaign forward and ensuring that the people’s voices are heard.

In her address, Mrs. Eneh also called for continued support and urged the people of both wards to deliver their votes for the PDP’s chairmanship candidates, Hon. Uche Okolo and Dr. Stanley Ezediuto, in the upcoming September 21st election. She emphasized that their leadership would ensure a brighter future for Awgu, with a focus on addressing the pressing concerns raised by the communities.

“Your votes for Uche Okolo and Stanley Ezediuto is a vote for development, unity, and progress in Awgu. We can not afford to miss this opportunity. Let us show our support at the polls and elect leaders who will work meaningfully for the benefit of our communities,” Mrs. Eneh said.

Mrs. Jane Eneh also extends her sincere gratitude to the people of Ihe and Owelli/Ugbo/Ogugu/Amoli Wards, among others, for the numerous gifts generously presented to her during campaign visits. She appreciates constituents for their overwhelming love and support, assuring them that these gestures would serve as motivation to further strengthen her commitment to serving humanity.

The PDP campaign continues to gather momentum as it moves through the wards of Awgu LGA, with increasing support for the party’s candidates.
