As Nigeria marks its 64th Independence Anniversary on Tuesday, October 1st, the deputy minority leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh joins millions of citizens across the nation in celebrating this historic day. In a statement made available to JANE-CARESTV and released to constituents and the general public, she conveyed heartfelt wishes for a happy Independence Day and the start of a prosperous new month of October, 2024.
A Tribute to Our Leaders and Heroes Past:
Mrs. Eneh took a moment to honour the sacrifices and determination of Nigeria’s founding fathers and heroes who fought relentlessly for the nation's independence, which was finally achieved on October 1, 1960. She commended their bravery and foresight, which laid the foundation for Nigeria’s sovereignty.
"We owe a great debt of gratitude to the leaders and heroes of our past, whose efforts and sacrifices ensured that Nigeria became an independent nation. Their vision and courage brought us to this point, and we must continue to honour their legacy by working together to build the Nigeria of our dreams," Mrs. Eneh stated.
A Call for Patriotism and Nation-Building:
In her message, Mrs. Eneh urged Nigerians to embrace patriotism, unity, and collective responsibility as the nation continues to navigate its developmental challenges. She encouraged all citizens to contribute positively to the nation-building process, stressing the importance of leaving a strong and prosperous country for future generations.
