Rt. Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh, Deputy Leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, has extended her warmest congratulations to the newly sworn-in commissioners and Head of Service in Enugu State. The official swearing-in ceremony, held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, marks a new chapter in the Mbah-led administration’s drive for excellence in governance.

In a special congratulatory message, Mrs. Eneh specifically hailed the appointment of Prof. Benedeth Ekwutosi Okoli, the distinguished scholar and technocrat from Awgu, describing it as “a proud moment for the people of Awgu and a testament to the governor’s commitment to merit-based leadership.”

“I congratulate all the newly sworn-in commissioners and Head of Service, Dr. Godwin C. Anigbo, mni. Their appointments reaffirm our Governor’s confidence in competence, integrity, and purposeful service,” she said.

She described Prof. Okoli as “a beacon of intellect and dedication,” expressing confidence that her inclusion in the State Executive Council would add significant value to the state's policy direction and implementation.


Mrs. Eneh further commended His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his visionary leadership and for choosing individuals with deep expertise and proven records to advance the goals of his administration.

“To Prof. Okoli and all newly sworn-in appointees, I urge you all to bring your best to the service of Ndi Enugu. You carry the hopes of your communities and the faith of a progressive government. May your time in office be fruitful and impactful,” she added.

The newly sworn-in commissioners have been assigned to key portfolios reflecting Governor Mbah’s strategic governance priorities:

• Engr. Benjamin Osita Okoh – Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure (Nkanu East LGA).

• Prof. Benedeth Ekwutosi Okoli – Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication (Awgu LGA).

• Hon. Enyinna Franklin Ogbonna – Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources (Udenu LGA).

• Dr. Samuel Ogbu-Nwobodo – Commissioner for Trade and Investment (Nkanu West LGA).

• Prof. George Ugwu – Commissioner for Health (Nsukka LGA).

• Ben Collins Jnr. – Commissioner for Water Resources (Ezeagu LGA).

The Deputy Leader reaffirmed her support for the governor’s commitment to developmental strides and pledged continued collaboration to ensure that legislative and executive synergy delivers the needed transformation across Enugu State.
