In a show of political solidarity and vision-driven support, Deputy Leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh joined Ndi Enugu on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, to stand firmly behind the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, as he officially declared his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mrs. Eneh, who attended the historic event, at Michael Okpara Square, Independence Layout, Enugu, commended Governor Mbah’s courageous decision to align Enugu State with the national leadership, describing the move as a strategic step towards unlocking greater opportunities and developmental partnerships for the people of Enugu State.
According to her, the governor’s transition to the APC reflects his pragmatic leadership and unwavering commitment to the transformation agenda that has already positioned Enugu as a model of innovation and progress in Nigeria’s Southeast. She noted that true leadership requires foresight — the kind that prioritizes the collective good above political boundaries.
“Governor Mbah’s decision is not just political; it is purposeful,” Mrs. Eneh remarked. “It demonstrates his readiness to connect Enugu to the centre of national decision-making, ensuring our people benefit more directly from federal programs, infrastructure, and investments. I stand in full solidarity with him because his vision for Enugu transcends party lines — it’s about prosperity, stability, and the future of our children.”
Governor Mbah, in his keynote address at the event themed “Charting a New Course”, reflected on the progress Enugu has made under his administration — from the completion of Smart Green Schools and healthcare centers across all wards to massive road infrastructure, restored water supply, and improved security surveillance across the state. He emphasized that joining the APC was a deliberate choice to strengthen collaboration with the federal government and accelerate the ongoing transformation.
Mrs. Eneh lauds the governor’s achievements and reaffirmed her belief that this new political alignment would consolidate Enugu’s gains, attract stronger federal presence, and drive inclusive growth for communities across the state.
She urged Ndi Enugu, especially women and youths, to remain united and supportive of the governor’s leadership, assuring that the decision would yield long-term benefits for the state’s social and economic development.
“This is a moment for unity and forward thinking,” she added. “We must stand together and ensure that Enugu continues to lead as a beacon of progress and good governance. I pray for divine wisdom and grace for His Excellency as he continues to chart this transformative path.”
With this symbolic show of solidarity, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh joins other leaders across the state in reaffirming a shared commitment to the vision of an Enugu that is not only connected to the centre but also positioned for greater advancement in the years ahead.
