The Deputy Leader of the Enugu State 8th Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh has commended the wife of the Governor, Her Excellency, Mrs. Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah, for her outstanding leadership and compassionate commitment to the welfare of girl children and mothers in the state.

Mrs. Eneh, who joined the First Lady at the "2025 International Day of the Girl Child" Celebration held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the International Conference Centre, Independence Layout, Enugu, described the event as “a radiant display of hope, purpose, and empowerment.”

Organized by the Office of the Wife of the Governor in collaboration with Custos Care Foundation, the event carried the theme: “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis.” It highlighted the resilience, courage, and brilliance of the girl child, while reaffirming the need to invest in their education, leadership, and well-being.

Mrs. Eneh lauds Her Excellency for championing causes that uplift women and inspire young girls to rise as leaders in their communities. According to her, Mrs. Mbah’s continued dedication to humanitarian initiatives and her hands-on approach to issues affecting women and children reflect a rare kind of leadership rooted in compassion and service.

She further prayed for God’s sufficient grace upon the First Lady, commending her motherly devotion and unwavering pursuit of a better future for the girl child.

“Her Excellency has once again reminded us that when a girl child is empowered, a generation is transformed,” Mrs. Eneh remarked. “Her vision continues to ignite light, hope, and purpose in the lives of many families across Enugu State.”

As the celebration drew dignitaries, educators, and advocates from across the state, it stood as a call to action — urging society to support every girl child to dream, lead, and thrive without limits.
